Actually, it's more like going to buy a piano that only has one octave and being told that they don't make them due to lack of demand, so you need to purchase a full piano. There are probably only a handful of people that would configure a system the way you are doing. I doubt enough to make such a device profitable. And yes, I do understand your reasoning for your setup, I just don't think there is enough of a market there.

Morticia,

Darling, you are absolutely priceless!! I am so glad I happened upon this thread, though I am truly sorry I didn't get in on it when it was first started. Though it's unlikely, I do hope you post back often because your man-hate is so over the top it's outrageously funny.

Some of my favorite moments:

Morticia Wrote:omg. Never mind.
I give up..

Morticia Wrote:Sorry to have wasted your time.
Please delete my account.

sub Wrote:Whats with the angry faces? What did I do?

I swear... I think I wet my pants right there.

How many times do you think there's been a man in Morticia's life that said, "What did I do?"

fb67 Wrote:I think we know why there's an ex.

dvasco Wrote:lol, I was thinking the exact same thing.

Morticia Wrote:Ah.... I know your kind.
First off, my ex is an ex because he wimpered when I told him to fetch me my Cat o' nine tails.

A classic! Who would have thought you'd reply with such humor?!? I've never met such a charming man-hater.

Morticia Wrote:Ok, last try. See, I know what I want and I know what I do not want.
I do not want to put a TV tuner or satellite card in the PC.
There is only ONE SLOT in the pc and there is only 2.25" of clearance. The max height the card can be is 2.25"

Darn... now see, after all the scorn and disdain for men shown in your previous replies, you were just begging for someone to reply:
"You really need to put a tuner card in your Nexus machine."

This crowd is just too nice.

Morticia Wrote:So, to make it easier, I'll break down into a form that even a guy can understand.

Rudely taunting the people you're asking help from... that such a rare quality these days. I used to work with a gal like you, and she was quite a bit of fun. Most of the guys hated her because she was just so darn mean and antagonistic. I kind of liked it though. She just hated asking me for help but sometimes she just couldn't avoid it. I knew she was desperate when she came or had been told to come to me, and she seemed to hate it when I had an answer for her. And then they made me her boss because I was good at working with difficult people... poetry huh?

Morticia Wrote:I was not being rude, I was responding in an appropriate tone to the smart mouth little boys. I don't take lip or backtalk from males.
Well, you most certainly were being rude but that's what we like about you!

Morticia Wrote:I don't know why men have to complicate stuff so much. You guys always have got to add the extra bling-bling, more knobs, a beer cooler, spinners and more chrome. Can't you ever make something plain and simple, just a basic thing to do one thing only?

Well sweetie, why don't you go get your engineering degree and make those things? Don't leave a man to do a woman's job.

Morticia Wrote:You can't imagine how frustrating this is. Makes me want to throw it all out to the curb, the same place I left the ex sitting.
It almost had to be worth it for him just for the stories he has to tell now. I hope you didn't break his spirit completely. Probably did, or not from lack of trying I suppose. Wow.. you must be an incredible PITA to live with.

fender Wrote:Is your "Ex" a guy who calls himself "Tipstir" by any chance?

Ok, that made me laugh out loud. Poor Morticia is too new here to appreciate that comment, but I'm sure I'm not the only one that busted a gut on that one. I bet sub laughed. Tipster and Morticia... now that would be a pair. Might explain a little too. Props Fender.

Morticia Wrote:Well I caved in and purchased one of those pvr-150LP cards.
It's way more than I want or need.
It really makes me mad that to do one simple little thing I have to go into massive overspending for a massive overkill option that I do not want and do not need.
This is about the same as me going to buy a mini-van just to haul groceries and the kids around and being told that I have to buy a Ferrari instead, just because everyone else buys them.

So in a few days it will be here and I'll install it and I'll disable 98% of it's features. I'll have paid 80% more than I should have for something that I'll only use 2% of it's capabilites.

And I just love how you go on and on with one analogy after another to make the same point over and over.

Morticia Wrote:I just love buying more than I need. Nothing is more satisfying in life than spending more money than you should.
Surely you don't mean that.

Morticia Wrote:It just makes me mad that there isn't a cheap, simpler, single use device that just passes through an s-video signal.

Oh please... who are you kidding? That would only satisfy you until you wanted to hook up a DVD player in this little arrangement. "Why don't they just make a cheap, simpler, two use device that passes through s-video signal?" And then you'll want to feed your home security camera into it. "Why don't they just make a cheap, simpler, three use device that passes through s-video signal?"

No you want what you want, whatever that may be, and if you can't get it, you blame a man because surely some man must be at fault. And most surely you're right.

I wish you were asking how to feed component video into your little arrangement.

Thanks for all the fun Morticia! I hope your arrangement works for you though I also hope you're not a stranger to these parts. I'm in love already. G'night

Priceless!!! I'm laughing so hard people are wondering what's going on in here!

(though I think that picture does just have one octave on it - one octave, not one note. Still a perfect impersonation though!)

well, sorry, i guess you've got to pay for the extra keys & the worthless animals to, they don't make one tone painos, it's a no-market. besides, the kids love the animals. but you can still choose to buy it & only play one tone, even forget it has the other 7. you don't even have to look at the animals Big Grin

lol. 1/100th of second i really though: "damn, how could i post a wrong advice? i've made an error, oh god, worlds gonna end because i've mistaken a note as an octave or vice versa". that though only lastest very short Wink

I think you would be better off with this remote controlled video switch.

http://www.amazon.com/4-1-Out-Selector-S...517&sr=1-1

And GBPVR to manage your video library.

That is what I suggested in post #2, only I didn't provide a link. It is implied that once she gets that she get a learning remote that can have the switch commands programmed into. See how easy guys make it. Big Grin

yeah i would go with that aswell (video switch)
the quality Morticia is going to get now that it has gone through all the encoding etc is going to be hit and miss
or just use the composite because the qualty she is going to get now isnt going to be much better
i doubt Morticia is listening anymore anyway
i would have spoke up earlier but she had already ordered the pvr150
