Volume using MediaMVP

Should I be able to adjust the volume using the remote of my MediaMVP? I tried but no luck. I'm using the high visibility skin.

Only when watching a recording or live TV, or at the main menu.

Well, my remote does not volume up or down, nor does channel changing. I have the silver face 45-button remote that came with my MediaMVP. Something that I need to set?
