You'll totally ruin your image, unless of course you use it to lure some other poor soul to his sad, pathetic end. :p

Now that would be apropos. Dressed in pink dominatix leather, you'd make quite a statement when you arrived. Ooo, I'm getting goose bumps just thinking about it.

Yes, it most certainly did...

BTW, I'm a red head.
Sorry boys, no pics. I wasn't born yesterday you know.. Smile
Just imagine a red headed Elvira with geek glasses and a serious case of PMS.... Wink

We'll leave it at that, ok?

Ok. Now that we have that out of the way...

I installed gb-pvr last night and I'm liking what I see so far.
I haven't tried putting the s-video cable into it yet but will be trying that this after noon. So far I like how it can play back everything on my lan.
But for some reason it refuses to play .mov apple quick time files.
They play back fine with VLC externally to gb-pvr. Can I just call it "gb" and you still know what I'm talking about?

When I tried to open a few of them with apple quick time player it first told me the .mov files had something to do with flash player and asked me if I would like to enable the flash features in quicktime player. I told it yes and the files play fine in Apple quicktime player and in VLC.

But they will not play in gb..

Oh, and also I just discovered that gb will not play back .mp4 files when VLC plays them back just fine.

I hope I can figure that out.

Oh. I guess it would help if I describe the new pc.
It's a little 2ghz P4 Dell (I don't know what model it is) with 512m ram.
It has a 250gb hard disc, an Nvidia FX5200 and the WinTV pvr-150lp mce. The os is win XP pro w/sp2.
It's pretty basic but that's how I like it. I don't plan to install any other software on it. Just what it takes to do what I want it to do, play back stuff from my lan and display the s-video input.

So far I can't find anywhere where you have the option to watch the s-video source. Any hints?

Thanks.. Smile

VLC can often play files that WMP or GBPVR cannot because they do not have the required direct show codec installed. VLC does not use direct show codecs so it isn't an issue to it. For quicktime files, some of us use:

Cool! Thank you!

Any idea now how to make my over priced, over featured capture card show me the live s-video input?

I've played with the gb config program but to no avail..

Thanks!

Create a capture source for the device. Click the 'only show devices detected in this machine' checkbox, and set the input source to 'svideo'. Set the EPG Source to 'none'. Hit the 'update EPG' (or ok out of the config app) to force the capture source to be saved, then hit the 'Add' button and manually add a channel called 'SVideo' or something similiar. Now when you click the live tv button in GB-PVR, you'll find their is a channel called 'SVideo' which will show you whatever is coming in this input.
