Hope it's ok to post this here but if not, mods feel free to move or remove.
sub asked for help and although I usually just give once a year and planned to increase my payment a bit, I decided why wait. My company has a website and although it doesn't get the traffic GBPVR does, I know how those little amounts add up each month.
So, as 1 user to other users, even if you've given before, please consider giving again. I gave about the time v1 came out and got a bargain with 1.016 and I'm sure only good things are coming in the near future.
Again, thanks sub for your hard work!

Sub can we use transfer and pay in NZ dollars instead of US, if it saves on your transactions fees?

The money just stays in US dollar paypal account and I pay directly into US hosting provider in US dollars, so this is the preference.

I kind of hate asking for money, but I have to keep the project ticking along. And for others reading... I definitely dont want money from anyone who is struggling financially! I dont need it that much, and I'm sure there would other wiser things to spend your money on.

Yeah, the country dropdown confused me. Sorry for not donating before. I don't like PayPal, but I finally used the non-login payment for something else before and realized that was an option here. Hopefully I made up for it a little bit!

Just like p said...

I just figured something out - I started playing with the whole HTPC thing about 6 months ago - I found GB-PVR very quickly and I've been 'testing' it since then... except now I'm not testing it - We (that's my wife and me) are now using (and relying on) it... I've happily laid out about £150 UKP on various bits of hardware, but I never thought about the cost of the software :o

Again, just like p said...

Perhaps there are other 'testers' out there who are now commited users...?

I'm glad others started posting about this. I saw the original email from Sub and I found I was in a dilemma, a bit like the dilemma you can have when deciding what to tip in a restaurant! I don't have spare cash - car needs repairs blah blah, but wanted to contribute something, but then I thought if it was too small an amount it would be insulting:confused:

I have started to feel like Larry David in Curb - over analysing the problem!

In the last five years I have only paid, or contributed, for two pieces of software - GBPVR, and five years ago TV tool by Jochen Buehner
It shows that donations are a good way to support a project, as people will contribute for software they like. If every user of gbpvr made a small donation it would add up...question is, how much?

I could answer that question for you, but that wouldn't help you much would it?:p
