Hi,

I've been quite happy with my new-ish GBPVR setup for weeks now.

All of a sudden, yesterday, I cannot watch a channel live without PVR2.exe or GBPVR.exe crashing out with a .NET Runtime 2.0 Error, in event viewer it's event ID: 1000

"Faulting application pvrx2.exe, version 1.0.0.0, stamp 00000037, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.1.2600.2180, stamp 411096b4, debug? 0, fault address 0x000114b6."

I can still watch any stored recordings or other video files, even starting to record something from the TV guide and playing it straight away works just fine.
It's just going to a programme from the TV guide and selecting watch, after a random amount of time usually less than 20 seconds, the crash happens.

Since the start of the problem, I've tried different muxes, installed updated video card drivers, and performed a repair install of GBPVR 1.0.16.

edit: ProgDVB works fine too, I can watch live TV from either Nova-s without issue, so that probably means that the nova-s cards+drivers are fine.

help!

Cheers
Rick

Unfortunately, I cant see any error in your logs.

Does changing the audio renderer back to 'system default' help?

Hi Sub, that was fast!

Thanks for taking a look, and thanks for such an awesome bit of software.

Anyway, changing the audio renderer didn't make a difference, nor did any other combo of audio & video decoders & audio renderers.

Hmm, I can see I'm going to end up reinstalling. I'll do some more faffing & make sure it's proper broken before I give up Smile

Cheers

Righty, it's working again now, I don't know if it's relevant, but on crashing, I've noticed on some crashes, i'm getting the signal strength popup.
As I lost film four recently, some UK satellite channel shift i presume, I was delaying having to rescan for channels, and the signal thingy did make me wonder if some other channels had been moved/tweaked..
I noticed yesterday that BBC one is watchable without crashing.
So, I removed both satellite tuners from GBPVR. and re-added them, one scanned through all channels and i found I could use it for live tv etc, so I added the second.
On scanning, it seems that it was bombing out with exceptions now & then.
So, I scanned enough to get most of my channels, and stopped it.
I could then watch tv on either tuner without issue.
Based on another post that talks about an image issue, I then changed my quartz.dll for the older one remembering that it'd fixed an issue on my old PVR build.
Today, I've rescanned with the second tuner again, and no crashing.

It's a bit waffly, and ambiguous as a solution, but I didn't have any GBPVR errors to go on.
It seems to have fixed my problem, and might be of some use to someone.... somewhere.

Cheers
Rick
