Most of the posts i've checked regarding audio video sync issues seem to suggest looking into CPU power, or other running apps - but my machine is pretty much GBPVR only, and I think has plenty of power.
I only loose sync on live TV when the picture glitches - so i'm guessing the glitches are more down to hiccups in the DVBT broadcast signal rather than CPU usage. My ariel and cables are all pretty good quality, so there's nothing more I can do to improve that end of the system.
STBs tend to pixelate every now and then, but don't seem to exhibit the same loss of sync, so could GBPVR be made to handle these events better? Do the video and audio streams have seperate timestamps that could be checked by the software every now and again to bring them back into sync?

Try different audio/video decoders.

All this type of stuff is done outside of GB-PVR by directshow.

I have the same issues now. I had previously used XP for GB-PVR on a nforce4 based motherboard and that worked fine. Recently I have upgraded my HTPC to a G33 based motherboard with a core2duo processor. So I have PLENTY of power. The GPU is a Gefore 8600 GTS and I have Purevideo installed.

I went the Vista route and tried that but that OS is not ready yet for a number of reasons, but the most troublesome was NVidia drivers and setting resolutions and scan rates which is not yet supported fully. It also resetted my clock with someting like -6 hours from time to time !?!?? That screwed up recordings.

In Vista though I had no problems with audio/video sync.

I have now reinstalled XP and use the same decoders as far as I can tell, but every time there is the slightest glitch in DVB-T the audio gets out of sync. Up to a second or so at its worst. Changing channel sets sync right again up to the next glitch.

I use Nvidia purevideo decoders for video/audio and cyberlink multiplexer of a version that has worked fine before. Tried DVR-MS also, but no difference.

This is a setup I have used for years, so I am not sure where to look for a solution. The new part in this is the new motherboard/CPU. Can that play a part?? I understand that the problem is outside of GB-PVR, but I need a little guidance here...
