Only Live TV, no DVR...will this work?

Hey, everyone!

I just downloaded GBPVR and I can't wait to use it. My only problem is this: I have an ATI All-In-Wonder x800tx video card with capture. Now, I read in these forums that it won't work because it doesn't have a hardware MPEG-2 encoder.

Well...I don't want to record anything. I have Dish Network and two actual DVRs in my apartment. All I want to do is be able to watch TV on my 22" widescreen computer HD monitor instead of my crappy little 13" old school TV/VCR on my dresser. Again, I don't want to record anything with PVR, I just want to use it as an interface for my satellite TV stream.

Sooo...will it work to just view the satellite TV? Gotta know!

Sorry, there is no built in support for this card with GB-PVR.

might want to check out 2 plugins, both the SoftwareRecorder and Graph Recorder from wiki....software recorder might not work for that card, i think it depends on which driver you use, but it functions most like native support with both recording and watching..very quick on channel changes..

Graph recorder should work for both recording and watching as well just fine...
just have to build your own graphs, but there are instructions there..
pretty much anything will work with that one..even firewire..
