for episode information you need to know the episode name. this is the only way to tell each episode apart. and the reason why sage is so stupid, is that it doesnt put a space between the "-" character. and if i was to allow for this, shows like "X-Men" would only show up as "X", which is silly. episode lookup works best with filenames like "Enterprise - 2x02 - Carbon Creek.avi" or "Enterprise - Carbon Creek.avi" the part before the first " - " is taken as the show name, and the part after the last " - " is taken as the episode name, if your files are like this it works about 90-95% of the time.

object not set ... is extremely generic error message, it doesnt narrow down the bug at all, there are thousands of objects so one not being set, err yeah no help (not to sound mean or anything, just a lot of people make this mistake of thinking that means something, just trying to educate ). can you close gbpvr, open it, go into my vids, then click scan, make it crash, close it down. and post your gbpvr.exe.log file (i suspect it might have something to do with the filenames, i didnt really check it all that well against different filenames, just checked it hardcore against different files (all had same filename structure eg "showname - episodenumber - episode name.extension&quot.

It would be nice if your on-screen keyboard did not prevent manual entry of non-alpha characters. I can't type in numerals or puntucation marks. This makes it difficult to use the "Information" functions.

yeah im aware of the bug with the numeric etc keys, if i allow for this there are strange sideeffects, and some of the special characters eg $%^ come out as really wierd things like smiley faces etc. a bug i just havent gotten around to really looking into.

ill look at the other bug later tomorrow, i think i might know where it is.

ok i think i fixed the "scan" bug, did some testing now it seems to work fine. also i did some memory tests, and well on both of my machines the memory usage is a little less than the old release (before v2.0.0.0).

it also fixed another bug where the "seen" wasnt being set if you played the video from within "my videos" (the only things that dont get marked as "seen" now are dvdfolders).

Yep, you you nailed it. I'm still struggling with the episode lookup stuff. Perhaps your lookup algorithm could try GBPVR filenames first, the other filename style you mention in the first post, and then the Sage style? I understand about the " - " but the Sage filenames do have a pattern. Or maybe, like you've done with Amazon search results, you could try to dissect the filename and then offer the user a choice of which one to lookup?

i wont do anything with sage, i hate sage, sage sucks . it does also try the gbpvr file format, ie it tries to take off the _xxxxxxxx_xxxxxxxx.mpg part, but the episode lookup is mostly for videos people have downloaded or stored, theres not much point using it with recordings since they usually have the right information anyway from the EPG.

of course i did something with the DLL, it is a DLL, you cant update it without changing the dll.

what skin are you using? what does the gbpvr.exe.log say?

Actually, I couldn't get My Music to work for quite some time - but then it started working after "installing" the 2.0.3.9 My Videos. Go figure.
