Yes. You can also unplug your mvp and just load the Hauppauge dongle, it does do marginally better with FF/RW but you lose access to your MythTV box. Don't forget to disable whatever process you use currently to load the mvpmc dongle.

Thanks for all your help, I'm hoping to have time to load all of this tomorrow on my PVR box and get testing.

Well mvallevand I finished the switch today on my box to running GB-PVR... it went ok (mustly windows problems) and everything seems to be running good except I have both my MVP running on the default dongle and they seem to crash/reboot alot and wanted to know if the MVPMC dongle is more stable?

Thanks,
Blue

I guess it took more than ten minutes, I forget about Windows problems. If you are crashing a lot there might be another problem (or you are running Vista). I consider mvpmc as stable in emulation mode as it is with MythTV, but I don't think I am the best qualified to answer the comparison question, because I don't use the Hauppauge dongle.

Its probably best to post a description of the MVP crashes you're getting, along with a set of logs so we can see what the cause is.

I tend to go with what mvallevand says above. Since sub rewrote the MVP server bit for 1.0.16 I have found it almost rock solid using the built in Hauppauge dongle, I haven't rebooted my MVP server since our last power cut (must be at least 2 months) & in that time have only had 1 MVP crash on the lounge MVP & the wife hasn't mentioned any at all on the bedroom MVP.

I will grab the log files, I notice the "crashing" which is really the MVP reboots when I am selecting shows to record in the TV Guide menu... it doesn't happen all the time though... the other issue I seem to have is I can't seem to have them both connect to the network... If I were to power one off and them back on it doesn't seem to want to connect. I will grab the log files right now.

Thanks for all the help,

Sorry, but can you enable log flusing in the config app, then zip and attach the logs immediately after the problem happens.
