I am a newbie so please forgive? not sure what EWA is. I guess I was hoping to use the n800 like a remote to control the mvp so that I could stream music to the player without havingt he tv on or being at the computer. the n800 is a linux device running maemo. the n800 is dnla compliant. Could I use the upnp through mcmvp and use the n800 as a control point?

No but, this would certainly would have had quite a /. effect on mvpmc.org I thought it might make a nice remote control and I was able to issue a few command to a LIRC driver on the mvp and I was working on outputting mvpmc's two line VFD display via IP, thinking it might make a nice headless music player, but my wife liked Nintendogs and I lost access and then lost interest because this is a project in itself.
The fact that the DS can run VNC does allow some possibility for GBPVR integration however if anyone is interested in going there.

That's the same as I did, I did misunderstand. Getting it to act as a LIRC remote is not to difficult, but everything else takes programming. mvpmc's UPnP support cannot be controlled remotely. If you wanted to control the mvp remotely with a n800 you might have better success through the Slimserver client.
