Nope, the Aver does not even show frequencies in their media center. Going to the older TV6 application, I can see the frequencies, but not the PID's. I beleive them to be stored in xml files, but these are not text, so I am at a dead end there. I'll contact AVER when their tech site comes back up, but I don't hold my breath.

To be honest, I have no idea and its not the sort of things thats easy for me to look into from here.

I might be able investigate further if you can supply sample transport streams that I can download and run through the debugger here. Unfortunately I dont know of any utility that can tune QAM on your Aver card and recording these transport stream files I need. Some people use the Pro version of TSReader for recording transport streams, but I dont think it'll do the Aver QAM.

OK, I guess at this point we'll wait and see what Aver says, if I can decode their config files to get the PID's. And for now I'll do without electronic religion and WGN in digital.

If anyone has the PID's for Comcast Albuquerque, please check in, particularly for QAM channel 123.

I got TSReader Lite to work. It does not successfully tune the Aver card, but displays the last channel I was on. SO I go into Aver TV and display a 123 or a 125 channel, exit, go into TSReader lite, and display.

I saved the output files, and zipped as html, attached. As you can see, teh stream for 123 is just the religious and WGN channels, and 125 has the group I listed previously.

I'll look at the PID's a bit, but don't really undersstand them... Yet.

Wanted to let you know that there are new drivers for the m780 that have fundamentally changed something in the way the card is accessed, so new bda and probably direct entries need to be written, but it is possible that the new drivers might help with the qam troubles that I have seen people post.
I haven't had a chance to install the new drivers, and run filter check but at some point when I get a chance I will.
Then those who use qam can test it, and maybe it will work.
As a side note I found out that they have a beta driver and a plug in to make qam work in media center

Don't know if it makes a difference but your reported bitrates are way off:
Code:
MPEG Video: Bitrate 15.000 Mbps Resolution 704 x 480i
Those streams are mostly in the 2.5-3.5 Mbps range.

Edit: BTW, you can get the channel/frequency tables at http://www.silicondust.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2335

I think because the Aver card is not really supported in TSreader, it does not indicate correct bitrates. I am using the generic BDA support.

I am using Aver driver v2.5.0.19, which I thought was latest. Where can I get later? I thought I checked their site earlier today.

It appears to me, in my limited knowlege, that gbpvr is picking up the right PID's for the stream on 123, but that it is for some reason displaying stuff from teh 125 stream. The thumbnails given by TS reader are right, but the data viewed in gbpvr config is wrong.

Tell you what. I'll punch in the tuning code for 123.909 and then see what gbpvr displays. Maybe its a config problem?

SUCESS!! Well, the end result is success, but the steps were convoluted.

In Config, I scrolled through the latest scan (the one posted, with only 123-126 scanned), and selected (000(AC3)) #6 from the pull-down, and hit OK. This brought me back to teh setup for the Aver QAM card. Here it listed teh actual tuning parameters, and lo and behold, it listed 125, not 123!

I then cut and pasted teh correct 909 tuning parameters from the cache file into this config page (edit recording source), and now it tunes properly!

This, I beleive, goes back to a problem that someone else noted, that some comcast channels give "0" for the name of several channels, and your config does not recognize them as different. This despite the fact that the cache file has the right parameters, and the mapping page has all teh duplicates in the pull-down, the data is all linked to the last one scanned. So, you cannot preview, and you cannot select from pull-down. You must cut and paste from the cache.

I suppose now that I know the troubling streams, I can run single-stream scans on just those streams, one at a time, and then scroll through preview and select tuning parameters.

In the long run, if you look at the cache file, we probably need something to differentiate the identically-"named" channels in the mapping screen to avoid this.

Well those are the drivers I tried when I rebuilt my XP machine and when i went into the config and selected show only cards in this system the card did not show up, and under device manager the card was listed differently, I wonder if they just changed the device name but not the pins. I ednded up going back to the drivers I had on the old system
Strange

The info on the beta drivers came from a toms hardware hd tuner review that was listed on the forums a few days ago it was at the end of the article
I found it
http://thegreenbutton.com/forums/permali...spx#216045
they have the info there
I dont know if this will help for gbpvr or not, I cant test because I dont have access to clear QAM Mediacom is a buch of jerks and encrypt everything even the locals
