I have following configurations

- Windows XP
- GBPVR v1.0.16
- ffdshow
- Windows Media Player 10
- Direct X 9.0b runtime

I have a Hauppauge PVR-500 Dual Tuner card and I downloaded the complete Hauppauge WinTV for Windows Media Center CD-ROM and installed.

This is a screen shot of Device Manager, and seems to me like the TV Card is installed correctly.

I can view movies saved in my hard disk using GBPVR, but no Live TV or Recording.
(I tried Live TV on SageTV, and it said No Signal)

Therefore I kinda think this has something to do with my TV card not installed properly.

1) Any advice?
2) If someone has the original Driver CD for PVR-500, can you pls send me an image of it?

Do a recording then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

You can download drivers CDs from http://www.shspvr.com/smf

I tried to record a program and the Log are attached here with.

P.S: I tried a Auto Channel scan with MEdiaPortal and it scanned and recognized the channels. Therefore I think think my TV card should be properly installed and working fine.

Nothing has really changed since your last thread on the same problem.

Quote:2007-11-07 20:36:21.609 INFO pFG2->RenderEx(pOutputPin, AM_RENDEREX_RENDERTOEXISTINGRENDERERS, NULL) failed: -2147220968 (trying normal render() next)
It looks like directshow is failing to find something it needs, but its not clear what.

I'm not really sure what to suggest.

When it comes to recording, the logs look fine, but you might want to check your c:\temp directory exists (this is set as your recording directory).

Yes, C:\Temp\ is there and there is a 83KB mpg file with the name of the show that I tried to record.

What exactly is DirectShow? Does it come with DirectX?
Do you think this error could come because of a non-working TV card?

Directshow is the standard set of components used by Windows playing media files, capturing video from capture devices, and encoding audio/video files.

It comes with Windows, though big chunks of it are often updated when you change your version of Windows Media Player.

Possibly. Its hard to guess.

So If I moved to WMP11 will it install a new version of DirectShow?

No, I dont think so, but it'll will update several of the directshow playback components.

I'm not aware of any steps for reinstalling directshow short of reinstalling Windows.

If it didnt work fro you in SageTV either, then I would have started thinking dud hardware, but you indicated above you thought the card was ok. If it worked for you in MediaPortal, then it might just a problem with one of the components that GB-PVR uses that Media Portal doesnt. Hard to guess what that might be though. At least you have the option of running Media Portal if you cant get it working in GB-PVR.

I have installed some more programs and drivers from Hauppage and given here are the log files when I tried to do a recording.

@Sub... Could you please tell me if I have made any progress from earlier status or whether it's still giving the same error?

I looked here about Mux. As far as I know I have all the drivers from Hauppage installed. Could you please tell me how to check if MUX is installed correctly.

Quote:(ii) Find the Mux (e.g. after you install the TVR, you can probably locate this file in C:\Windows\System32 or in the TVR install Dir) after which you can save a copy of that file for future MANUAL registration (described above) without having to re-install the TVR.

So exactly what file do I need to look for in C:\Windows\System32 folder?

(Ps: Live TV and Recording doesn't workwith GBPVR, MEdiaPortal, SageTV or BeyondTV)
