I think Sub knows I am insane, and all my friends think so! This confirms it:

I have just completed adding a 4th friend's house to my GBPVR empire!!! We have a single box servicing 4 houses over a wireless network. We have 4 WinTV 500 tuners in the machine, and have over 5TB of redundant storage on several computers throughout the network.

We are using PtP wireless network hardware from Tranzeo.

The system is going strong and Sub should know he made one hell of a robust program.

Thanks Sub!

Thats pretty cool (and slightly insane Rolleyes ) but makes a lot of sense somehow.

What's the distance for your network (between the houses), and what type of Wireless network are you using? Maybe the EnRoute 500-type?

The longest distance is 10 miles, the shortest is 300 feet. We are able to get 20Mbps reliably anywhere on the network.

The hardware we are using is from Tranzeo wireless. We are using the 5.7GHz equipment.

Yes we are, and it works great! Everyone has 20Mbps, and our live tv only takes 2.5Mbps. We have 9 MVP's running and they can all pull something simultaneously without skipping a beat.

With this setup you must be using VideoArchive to access all these recordings in a distributed environment...?

No, I modify the database manually... too many volumes for VA to handle. Besides you throw a few thousand recordings at VA and it tends to get a little stupid Sad

Lol, that's why I bug Sub so much when there is a new version... I can't have the system fail Big Grin

At least all the guys work for the IT department so we can mitigate it a little bit!

Yeah - that was kinda part of the reason for me asking. If you had VA working flawlessly in your setup with that volume, I would be asking for how. I struggle with VA myself, but I hope Jeff is coming around to getting it all right. VA worked for a long time for me with 6 local drives and an occasional network share or two. Its several thousand recordings, and it was fine. But lately ...Sad
