Ok I love this program but this new old computer is driving me a little nuts. I have a 2.5 ghz celeron D with 768 mb DDR ram (I know two different size sticks is not ideal). I'm running a Geforce 5200 card a PVR-150 tuner. It lags pretty bad changing channels has long delays and even navigating menu is sometimes slow. When I use GBPVR it slow but works fine in media portal that has even higher min system specs it runs fine. Can't quite figure it tried different renders and mpeg2 decoders with no success even overclocked to 3.2 ghz and still lags. Thinking of going back to my old AMD 2100 where it worked fine.

I'm on the digital side here, but I have less ram (500Mb) and everything is fine here.

I used to use a 5200 but updated (slightly) to a 6200 in the hope of getting slightly smoother playback. - playing with the decoders had a bigger effect.

My system can also record and playback some of the medium 'HD' formats. (never actually tried 1920x1080)
Core2-E2180, 1G RAM, 1Gb-5450 Silent, 2Tb +300g HDDs.
Three tuners: Twinhan DVB-T x 1, Hauppauge Nova 500T (dual)

DTB Digital SD + HD content (PAL-MPEG2-AC3).
Custom case made very quiet. Zalman CPU cooler.
Sits in rack with other HiFi.

ParaLED to show tuner activity.

Display: 42" 1920x1080p Panasonic Plasma

Yeah it's formatted from scratch first tried clean install windows then I nlited windows to strip out some stuff and still GBPVR maxes out the cpu and makes the thing lag out. I have 3-4 second delays from when I enter controls till when it responds. Just can't fugure it out. Everything else I run with it is fine. Just trying to play back at standard def not really trying to push the barrier here.

nm got it figured out swapped out my geforce 5200 for a different 5200 works fine now. Just never going to use that card again. Now my cpu usage is at 30% go figure.

It could have something to do with the memory interface on the two different cards.

just increase the priority in the task manager. it worked for me on my old XP 2500+.

i just use gbpvr to record the mpeg files and the use bsplayer to play back (low resource player), gbpvr player takes up lots of cpu.
