Same issue as most have had, but I still cannot figure out whats wrong. My system will not come out of standby to record shows that are scheduled. I put the system in standby myself through the old fashioned start-shutdown method. I am also testing with manual recordings and it doesnt wake up. I'm running 1.0.16 and have applied the native utilities patch. I don't know what else to change. My bios settings for standby enable it to wake up from any event possible.

The system comes out of standby if i use the XP Scheduler to run some program. i attached the logs that are generated, don't know if it will help.

There were a couple of issues with waking from standby in 1.0.16. The first thing I'd suggest is upgrading to 1.1.5, then applying the patches from the survival guide.

...sorry, you probably saw that one coming.

yea i figured i'd give it a shot. lemme give 1.1.5 a chance. thanks for the quick reply though

well i installed 1.1.5 and the system still doesnt come out of standby. the 1.1.5 patches dont pertain to me, so do i still have to install them? or are you talking about the 1.0.6 native utilities patch?

ISTR having problems in the past but only when I was putting it into standby manually when I was testing things. If I just let it drop into standby normally then it was OK.

Its generally a bad idea to come back and do a major edit to a thread. I read your thread earlier, and would have entirely missed your update if martin hadnt replied. You would have been better to post the second paragraph you added as a new post.

Its always a good idea to apply any patches I post in the current release's survival guide. (dont ever install a patch from a previous release)

I'm not aware of any issues with waking from standby in 1.1.5. You could check the GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log to check that GB-PVR is asking Window's to wake at the correct times.

i'll try letting the system go into standby on its own. i didnt install the patch from the previous version, i was just make sure. i'll install the patches and see where i get. the logs show GBPVR asking windows to wake at the recording times.

ok so i let the system go to standby on its own. the power options setting was to go into standby after 30 min. it did, but it didn't wake to record my show. i attached the log where it tells windows to stay awake. i'm also attaching my bios sleep state settings. I have it set to S1/POS. Under the PM Wake Up events, i have everything enabled just incase. Are there any other settings anyone else can see?

No, there isnt really any settings for this. GB-PVR just asks Windows to be awake at the times listed in that log, then Windows takes care of the rest. Sorry, I dont really know what to suggest.

well is there a way to see what times windows sees as when it should wake up? like a list of times that are kept by windows? that might show me if windows is even setting wake ups.

No, not that I know of. You can only see what times GB-PVR asks for the machine to be awake in that log.
