Hi

Ive had some success so far in configuring the plugin, succesful ping test, and the channels are mapped to GBPVR source channels. Im running Neutrino with Commando v9 on a Sagem D-Box 2.

Im a little confused as to how everything works from this point on:

1. Reminders dont seem to be being set on the D-Box when i schedule shows, even though i have the 'add timer events...' ticked?

2. Assuming i get that working, how does the D-Box know to output a stream from the network port? Do i need to configure the d-Box recorder settings? If so which: Direct, Server, VCR?

Either way, i cannot get GBPVR to change channels or record anything at the moment, and im stuck as to what to look at next?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help!

Regards

Stuart

Edit:
Scheduled a quick record on a channel only available on D-Box and zipped logs:
GBPVR: A64 X2 6000+, ASUS M2A-VM HDMI, 4GB ram, 8800GT GFX, 2x Nova-T DVB-T, 1x D-Box2 Cable reciever, 2x Wired MVP's, 1.0.16. Vista.
Plugins: MusicLibrary2, Weather, Int Cinema Listings, Burn DVDX2, D-Box2 Plugin, DVD Ripper.

Hi,
stu8080 Wrote:1. Reminders dont seem to be being set on the D-Box when i schedule shows, even though i have the 'add timer events...' ticked?

the log file says:
Code:
ERROR    [5]    DboxRecorder: Error sending control/timer to 192.168.3.2: Unable to connect to the remote server
Is your dbox powered on? Is a firewall blocking traffic of GBPVRRecordingService?

Everything is done by the plugin and ggrab or wingrab, you don't need to change anything on the dbox, as long as the dbox' network settings are correct.

The dboxrecorder hasn't been invoked by the recording service, but another recording source:
Code:
2007-11-11 15:13:10.477    INFO    [6]    Found new programme requiring recording: Al Murray's Road to Berlin
2007-11-11 15:13:10.573    VERBOSE    [6]    Changing to channel (GBPVR.Backend.Common.NullTunerController): 40
2007-11-11 15:13:10.645    VERBOSE    [6]    Requesting IRecordingSource to start recording: F:\Video\Recorded\Al Murrays Road to Berlin\Al Murrays Road to Berlin_20071111_15001530.mpg
2007-11-11 15:13:10.764    VERBOSE    [6]    BDARecordingSource about to start recording  oid:1 channel:
2007-11-11 15:13:11.300    ERROR    [6]    Error starting recording: System.ArgumentOutOfRangeException: Length cannot be less than zero.
Maybe you will first have to disable all channels that are only available on the dbox for the other capture sources you have defined (I remember that I also had to do it after I added new channels into my epg).

Thanks. Im sure there is no firewall getting in the way, on the Server machine, Vista firewall is disabled. (Behind hardware firewall for internet, connected to DBox via a 'USB to LAN converter, and a X-over cable)

as regards the channel overlap, i'll try diabling all on my other capture device and see what happens.

Actually, just realised that the other two capture devices have the channels loaded and enabled, but not tuned (obviously). I didnt think that would be the case. Im hoping this should fix things!

No Joy. I think this must be betwork related. I have a problem that must be related:

I set my USB to LAN adapter to IP 192.168.3.1, the DBox 192.168.3.2, whilst the rest of my network via onboard LAN (connected to router and then the internet, as well as two MVP's) to 192.168.2.1.

When i have it set up like this, i cant use remote desktop to connect to the Server (192.168.2.1) from main PC (192.168.2.2)

Do i have to enable DHCP on the DBOx, or will fixed IP addresses be enough to make the DBox connection work?

Where am i going wrong here?

Hi,

I would suggest to connect the dbox to the router / switch / hub of your network and check if this would solve your problems.
Is the "USB to ethernet" thing a 'normal' network device on your computer? If yes, you can also try to bridge both network connections using one fixed ip of the same subnet equal to the rest of your network is.

Nice one, bridging the adapters did the trick...!

The DBox and router are in diffrent rooms, joined by ethernet. i guess i could use a switch, but i had this adapter kicking about and figured it should work just as well... if only practice was as simple as theory seemed!

Excellent plugin Alibert!

Alibert... I have another problem!

Im trying to set up the recording source, i was successful the first time, but then decided to update the channels as some were missing. Ive left the bouquet as it was and scanned for new channels, giving me for example the new movie channel titles such as Sky Premier as opposed to Sky Movies 1.

When i delete the DBox recording source, and add it again, bringing up the channels in the config still shows the old channel titles, not the ones that are on the DBox. It seems it is reading the info from somewhere else, not the Dbox?

What can i do?

have a look in the gbpvr\Plugins and/or gbpvr\plugins\dboxrecorder for a file called "dboxrecorder_N.xml" (where N is a number). This is were the plugin stores the channel information. You can delete it and start assigning new channels.
