Live preview mode seems really nice and gives rapid channel changes on DVB-T.
When I was testing pausing in Live Preview mode, it took a good 5-10 seconds for the stream to start recording and going into pause mode. I realise this may be to do with the multiplexer settings but I thought up what could be a good feature to add to GB-PVR.
When in Live Preview mode and watching a channel: if there is another free tuner available, would it be possible to tune this to the same channel as the Live preview tuner and start buffering it in the background? (I'd suggest only doing this when tuned to the channel for more than X seconds to not hold up channel surfing) Upon pressing pause, you could then switch to showing the Non-Live preview tuner which is recording the same stream and the pause would be a little more responsive.
This could be a bit difficult to program though as there would need to be some logic in the "detect a free tuner" processing. I don't know, it might be majorly difficult to switch the tuners on screen without the delay that is already there.
This is just a thought that went through my head and may be a stupid one!
