I'm having several issues with PVRX2 that I just can't seem to figure out. I have Vista Home Premium. Media Center plays encrypted DVD's. PVRX2 used to as well. I had always had system default selected for DVD playback in config, but it just quit working.

Since the DVD player wasn't working, I created a plug-in for Media Player Classic and was using it run DVDs. I had unchecked the DVD check box under plug-ins and deselected Show DVD on the DVD menu in Config so it wouldn't appear on the Main Menu. It worked fine, but I hadn't set up the remote for MPC so I tried to fix the PVRX2 DVD player.

I read through the Support Forum. I installed MPV decoder per this thread ( http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=2...stcount=14 ) and selected it. DVDs now play but Vista switches to Basic and I lose keyboard and mouse input to PVRX2. I cannot exit the Video and PVRX2 is unresponsive. (I can control tab to other programs, etc.)

Since I was fixing DVD playback, I re-checked the plug-in check mark for DVD, and I rechecked the tab to Show DVD under the DVD tab. No worries, it reappeared on the Main Menu. Now I can't get rid of it. I cannot deselect it any longer.

I am working in the Admin account and tried turning off User Accounts Control. Either way, I do not have an option to Run as Adminstrator when right clicking the icon. Anybody have any thoughts?

I have 1.1.5 installed and I have tried this patch: http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=2...ostcount=7

EVR playback on Live TV is very good.

This is the problem with relying on 'system default'... you install or remove some application that has changed the system default decoder breaking playback. For this reason its much better to explicitly select a decoder.

I'm not sure what youre trying to describe here. What do you mean?

I never had an option. None were listed, but it worked. Media Center still works.

I cannot get the DVD option off the main menu. I deselect it under plug-ins but it remains. When I open the plug-in section again, it is again selected.

Its probably Vista's file protection getting in the way. Try deleting the 'c:\users\<user account>\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\program files\devnz' directory, then try again. The 'AppData' directory is hidden but there.

Thanks sub. I ran into problems with that when I first installed GBPVR. Unfortunately, it didn't work.

Find this line in config.xml and set it to enabled="false":

<Task enabled="true">DVD</Task>
