I was playing an untranscoded dvr-ms file today, when I noticed a few skips that took out anything between a few seconds and a few minutes. When I rewound, however, that video was still there (if jumpy). Is this a familiar problem to anyone? I have never noticed it before, but I did lose my config.xml file yesterday.

Are you running comskip? Thats the only reason I cant think of that would cause it to jump a few seconds/minutes of playback, but then work fine if you skipped back.

That makes sense. I certainly never meant to activate comskip, but there was a period of time when my config.xml file had, unknown to me, vanished due to corruption. Perhaps the default file that replaced it had comskip set to activate. Now that I have restored it from a backup, I will keep an eye on things.

Also check if you have a PostProcessing.bat that runs it.

This hasn't happened since, so I'm guessing that the Compskip was switched on by default when the config.xml file became corrupted.
