This is a bit of a shock to me - I never thought we would see Direct X10 cards for the old PCI bus. I wounder if all those people using the VIA ITX motherboards can now get decent MPEG4 playback.

I have a 6200 pci.
It will not do hardware acceleration on anything but Overlay.

Therefore I have to use the old interface on that PC.

Yeah - I wondered about that also.

The nvidia drivers dont support anything but MPEG2 acceleration on the AGP varieties of their cards (7600GS etc), even though the PCI-E versions of the same cards does, so I wonder what would be disabled on the PCI version...

HIS sels a Radeon X1550 with PCI interface. That should be plenty I guess.

I tend to trust ATI more than Nvidia when it comes to driver support on older or more exotic (Linux) platforms. - don't know anything in particular about this one though -
