Hello
I'm not sure whether this is a bug or not.
I have a fairly short (5m) delay before my HTPC goes into standby
I often spend longer than this looking at the epg especially after a reload, and the PC goes into stanby whilst viewing the guide.
I know that the obvious answer is to increase the delay but I was wondering if PVRX2 (vn 1.1.5) contains code to stop this for the epg in the same way that it is prevented whilst viewing slides or video?
Thanks

Are you doing anything actively with the EPG (scrolling up or down or sideways), or is it just sitting there? If you are doing anything actively, then I'd assume it wouldn't go into standby... Otherwise I'd want it to Smile
I'm not always right

Yes I'm moving all over the guide looking for stuff to record for the week.
However I don't think the Hauppauge remote (at least when used externally with ir.exe) resets the standby counter.
I use this externally as I have a button mapped to the change aspect ratio key (F7 I think)
Good point though. Investing in a MCE remote would probably solve my problem.

This a new one on me. I dont think I've seen other reports of that.

GB-PVR doesnt do anything to actively prevent standby except while doing a recording, or watch tv or a recording. Navigating around the menus etc is usually enough activity for Windows to keep itself awake.

I've always found that my PC will go into standby while in GB-PVR menus/EPG etc. (even if using remote) unless one of the following:
-playing video/TV
-recording
-Using keyboard/mouse

Annoying but I think that is the way Vista/XP works and not something GB-PVR can control.

I'll add something in the next release to make sure the machine doesnt go to sleep while you're navigating menus etc.

Just to confirm that this also happens to me. Navigating the TV Guide doesn't stop the PC from going into hibernation (unless GBPVR is doing something else as well... such as playing music or video).

Nothing to do with gbpvr, but mine went into hibernate (used in preference to standby as it seemed more reliable when waking up) when it was doing a giant backup of my recordings to a USB external drive with explorer!. Not the first time either.

Add me to the list. I use the MCE remote with HIP (and the alternate MCE driver) and it'll go into standby while I'm navigating menus or the EPG. I think I read somewhere that the original MCE driver resets the standby timers when buttons are pressed but the alternate driver doesn't.
