download: My Videos 2.1.10.0
download: MyDatabase.zip

v2.1.10.0
added
- can now configure which buttons to show on the menu and where they appear

fixed
- it will check to see if a disc exists in the dvd drive before trying to lookup info for it now
- the skin.xml file no longer has to specify a maximum description length.
- err probably fixed a few more things.

----------------------------------------------------------------

v2.1.8.0 (2-03-2005)
added
- PINs are now stored in "PinNumbers" table in database (this table will be created for you the first time you run it, so no need to replace the database).
- Edit Title - added to edit menu, allows you to edit the title for the selected video (via onscreen keyboard)
- Edit SubTitle - added to edit menu, allows you to edit the subtitle for the selected video (via onscreen keyboard); this is the name that is displayed.
- I moved "MaxDescLength" to the skin.xml file, since its more of a skinning issue than config issue, since different skins will need this to be different values.

Fixed
- Fixed a bug with the popup menu where pushing "back" sometimes made crazy jumps to over parts of the menu.
- InfoScreen pushing left/right or Blue/Yellow now keeps focus on the selected button.
- The "Lock" graphic no longer appears on a "Parent" directory item.

----------------------------------------------------------------

v2.1.6.4 (26-02-2005)
- added "OFDB.de" as a lookup source, also available in "Scan"
- translate "Votes Cast" and "out of 10" in the language.xml file.

----------------------------------------------------------------

v2.1.3.0 (24-02-2005)
- added "Mark as Seen", appears in scan and normal popup menu, so you can mark one or all videos as seen.
- added "Remove from DB" to scan menu, so can remove every item in the current directory from the database.
- fixed a few bugs.
- database can now have null values so you can manually edit it without problems.
- popup menu can now define how many items are shown, if there are more items than specified the menu wraps.

----------------------------------------------------------------

v2.1.2.8 (23-02-2005)
- improved episode lookup to work with episode season and number. works with s03e02, s3e02, 302, 3-02, 3x02.

----------------------------------------------------------------

v2.1.2.2 (23-02-2005)
- fixed one bug, if you have v2.1.2.0 dont bother upgrading chances are this bug doesnt effect you.

----------------------------------------------------------------

v2.1.2.0 (23-02-2005)
- "Show Info On OK" - if this is checked in config when you press enter/ok on a file/iso/dvd(if listed in virtual root) it will show the info screen, and if no info is found it will use "best effort" (or if in a tv folder "episode lookup&quotWink to find the information. if this is enabled you can play a video/iso/dvd via the play button, if its not enable, the play button wont do anything, so if you want to keep it just for music playback this wont interrupt it.
- Max Description Length - you can now define the maximum number of characters to be displayed for the description (only displayed the full description is stored, so you can change this, useful for very long descriptions).
- Locked Image - now displays a "lock" image on files/folders that require a pin to be opened.
- can now get info for dvds
- tv tome lookup now returns "director" "writer" "votes cast" "rating"(not certification) "air date" (as "year&quotWink
- improved imdb lookup.
- fixed "info view" poster image aspect (it was being stretch to fill the space, now it keeps the same aspect ratio).

note: there is a checkbox in the config called "auto play dvds" this isnt enable (ie you cant check it), ive been playing around with this for a few days, havent gotten it to work and didnt want to remove from the config, so i just disabled it.

----------------------------------------------------------------

v2.1.0.7
I added a "Info" screen, you can access this by pressing the red button (ctrl-r).  this is extremely skinnable (anyone skinners need help just ask), it can display actors, director, writer, tagline, description, rating, certification, runtime, year of release, and genres.

the database need to be majorly altered to add all this information, so you will need to delete the old videos.mbd database, and download the seperate database (its no longer packaged in the "myvideos.zip" since now one database can be used for all 3 plugins).  when you download and install the "mydatabase.mdb" file and my videos 2.1.x, you'll need to configure it and alter the "Connection String" (YOU MUST DO THIS!Wink and change it from "videos.mdb" to "mydatabase.mbd" (assuming you place the database in the same location, ie C:\program files\devnz\gbpvr\mydatabase.mbd).  you can also edit the "my music" and "my pictures" database connection strings and point them to this database (you might want to wait for a couple more releases thou, you may have to delete it).

ps GBPVR Media Experience has been updated to work with myvideos v2.1.0.0 (download)

upload v2.1.0.7

added "Amazon Description" "Amazon Poster" "IMDB Poster" "IMDB Description" these will only download either the description or the poster, and also return multiple hits (just like the standard "IMDB" "Amazon", these arent available in scan mode thou).  so if you want the poster from amazon and info from imdb but best effort is returning the wrong results, use these.  under "Menu"/"Information"/"More"/ ...
if you want to move them just edit the skin, ive only added these to the blue skin, if you want to use them in any other skin, just copy the few lines from the blue skin.xml file (you'll have to change the images for each one, but thats it, easy stuff, need help just ask).

i also made it so "ctrl-r" (red) will look up info if none is in the database, and then (if found, using best effort) will show you the "Info" view, and if already in the database will just show you the "info" view.  this works quite well, still not sure if i should make this happen on "ok" (and no i cant make this configurable, to many variables to deal with).

also i removed some left over debugging code.

enjoy.

ps gbpvr media experience skin has been updated to include "amazon poster" ... etc.

Hi Reven

I stopped the recording services, installed the new my videos, the mydatabase (altering the database setting in config) and the new GVPVR Media Experience and when I select XRecord from the main menu I get an unhandled exception:

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

Any ideas?

Went back to My Videos 2.0.XX and it still gives the exception on XRecord. Changed the skin to "Blue" - the standard one, and XRecord works. Conclusion - it must be the new Media Experience skin - maybe!

About to try the new My Videos with the standard Blue skin.

I already had an XRecord directory in an old Media Experience skin directory. When I installed the new Media Experience I just un-zipped it to that same directory, over-writing what it needed to (and presumably leaving the XRecord directory untouched).
I'll try updating the XRecord directory from the standard Blue skin.

It seems to work now i've re-copied the Blue skins XRecord directory across to Media Experience. I did have one glitch where it just killed off GBPVR but I can't repeat the sequence to get it to do it again - even if it ever would. I'll keep testing for a while I think.

This works great.

Question, a bug? If the folder name is the same as the start of the episode name, it takes it out of the file name if you have directories off. As a result, you can't do a scan for episodes.

It would be nice if it did the scan from the real name, and not the masked name, if this is the case.

Also, is there an easy way to set default views? I'm thinking in photos, where it would be nice to have them all same way (I like vids different)

it remembers the last view used for each folder, sometimes this isnt saved (i think this only happens if you exit my videos by one of the hauppauge 45 button shortcut keys, and the "menu" button, just get them how you like them and click the "main menu" button).

[b Wrote:Quote[/b] ] If the folder name is the same as the start of the episode name, it takes it out of the file name if you have directories off. As a result, you can't do a scan for episodes
it just takes off the folder name for the displayed name, for the episode lookups (for any lookup even) it uses the filename to get the lookup string, so for episode lookup the show name is taken from the first part of the filename before the first " - " and the episode name is the last part after the last " - ".

Nm...it doesn't seem to show the path w/ it off, or so it seems.

I do wish I could find where a previous version stores a cover. I have an entire season of Lost w/ the cover from Lost in Translation. I deleted the db entry, just the img in the entry, etc, manually show, etc, but it sticks. I can live w/ it.
