Hi

I am in London, using latest version of GBPVR with a Nova-T PCI freeview tuner and an Intel E6750, 2gb ram system.
I only get a quite weak signal from my arial but my Samsung LCD displays all channels fine, with only rare artefacts.

However GBPVR struggles to display a signal at all, especially when windowed and not on focus. I have tried mediaportal which is unstable but is able to show most channels with no problems (though again not as well when windowed). This means that my Nova-T is getting a strong enough signal but GBPVR can't display it for some reason?

Any tips on how to rectify this would be great!

Thanks

I found my 350 needed an amplifier between it and the aerial, even though plugging the aerial direct into the tv gave an ok picture - I guess it must be something to do with all the interference inside the pvr box...

I'm surprised there is a difference between what you are getting with media portal and gbpvr, I would have thought the results would be very similar...

try changing the mux (edit: sorry this will only help once you do get a signal)
i find it strange that changing from window mode would have anything to do with signal that sounds more like a decoder renderer issue

gbpvr has nothing really to do with signal strngth thats a harware/arial problem
either a booster or a different card is the only option
maybe even diffferent drivers for your tuner card

like elite said the tuner cards no matter what type need a really good signal
they are not as forgiving as settop boxes or tvs (guess it comes down to what they can fit on the tuner board and price)

I'd be very grateful for some help on a few unresolved anomalies. I noticed on the fixes for v1.1.5 that the low signal bug was sorted. However every time I start gbpvr after turning on the computer it comes up with low signal mesage and bars even though the channel under the message is playing fine and the signal on the strength indicator bars show there is good signal. The signal bars go away after I change channel so its not a huge issue.

You can change the timeout for the "no signal" message. Can't remember what needs changing, but a quick search of the forum should spring up the answer.

Yep, what he said. You can increase the <NoSignalPopupDelay> in config.xml.
