I just bought a Mygica A680B USB dongle for ATSC/QAM. TotalMedia 3.5 works fine, can tune, watch and record. GBPVR detects it is as a AnyTV USB Tuner. The AnyTV section in bda.ini matches the FilterCheck output. However, when I tried to tune during mapping, GBPVR could not find any channel. The strength and quality constantly remained 0. I cannot figure out any clue from the logs attached below.

Thanks in advance for any hint and suggestion.

are you trying to tune digital cable or antenna?

well, to save time... if the answer is you're trying to do digital cable, then add this to your bda.ini:
Code:
[AnyTV USB Digital Tuner (QAM)]
TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
TUNING_SPECIAL=2
FILTER_TUNER=Auvitek Dongle Digital Tuner
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
FILTER_CAPTURE=Auvitek Dongle Digital Capture
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
and select the new QAM version of the tuner when you setup your capture source. if you don't get your channels after that, try switching to the HRC frequencies. if that doesn't work then I don't know. the tuner may not support QAM in the way GB-PVR expects. try NPVR instead (see link in my sig).

if you are in fact trying to tune OTA from an antenna, then we're also back to "I don't know".

I have the same tuner. I had trouble getting it to work with GBPVR, but I switched to NPVR and it's working perfectly. I use it for ATSC, haven't tried QAM yet.

I was tuning for ATSC. Now I tried NPVR, but still no luck. It recognized as 'Auvitek Dongle Digital Tuner' which is correct I think.

@tuckster, did you change any setting to make it work?
I am on Vista, not sure if it caused the issue. I'll try a windows XP box and see if it works.

Tried on a windows XP machine, NPVR worked right out of box. I don't have much clue by comparing the two log files (one on Vista, the other on XP).
The XP one actually has one more warning 'FindFilterByName failed to locate filter: Microsoft Network Provider', but it worked.
The Vista box was just reinstalled to use this tuner card but unfortunately it doesn't work.

This is weird. After plugging it back to Vista, NPVR scans now. I guess the case is closed. Thanks all for the quick responses.
