This is probably an odd question, because on the surface I assume that XP is a better solution for GBPVR than Win2k3. But, since I have a licensed copy of 2k3 laying around (I won it at a Microsoft event), and since I've had jitter problems with HD that I can't resolve, would there be any benefit to me using my 2k3 (it's 2k3 Enterprise Server) for GBPVR?

I doubt it would make any difference either way. For a moment I considered 2K might have driver problems compared to XP, but XP is basically a prettier 2k3.

It's possible a fresh install of either one may help jitter problems, however. I had an old Windows install that jittered when playing games and a fresh install fixed it.
I bet Michael Bay uses GBPVR because it's awesome:

2k didn't work for me, because the ATI Theater Pro 650 won't work in 2k. I guess I should make sure it'll work in 2k3 before I start down that road...

Well, looks like there was no need to ask. Theater Pro not compatible with 2k3. Only XP or Vista. Not sure I want to try the Vista jump again yet.

I used both XP and 2003 and (apart from having to switch on display acceleration manually in 2003) there is no difference whatsoever. The only reason to chose one or the other are eventual other tasks you have for the PC.

Two other minor issues: DVR-MS doesn't come with Win2k3, but can be installed manually. I am not sure of the status now, but the most crrent Windows Media Player is not always available for Win2k3.
