I am running Win2k3 and get an error message when I try to run pvrx2 saying that the application terminated the runtime in an unusual way.

Do I need some additional library under Win2k3 perhaps?

This is only affecting access to the new GUI, everything else appears to be running great as ever.

To be honest, I'm not sure. I'm not really that familiar with Win2K3. If you zip and attach the logs I'll take a look.

(I'll move these posts to the support forum in a minute)

Thanks for moving my post. I suspect that this has to do with using Remote Desktop. I also tried VNC. I do not have a monitor attached to my GB-PVR box.

I figured that had to do with the runtime. What logs would you like and would you still like them?

Did you install the Visual C++ runtime that was listed in the release post?

Yes, twice and a reboot too.

You have Win2k3 and no problems? Then my issue is almost certainly the Remote Desktop or VNC.

Actually, I had never tried running it on the computer as I use the box strictly as a server and use the MVPs as clients. I just tried it and got the same error you did.

I almost never use the GUI, preferring to use EWA in most cases. Every once in a while I have used the GUI, so wanted to test it out. Besides, I wanted to see the pretty eye candy.

Did you remote in, or do you have a monitor, keyboard and mouse attached?

I almost always use remote desktop, but I do have a keyboard mouse and monitor. I just tried running directly on the console and I get the same error.

OK, Sub posted a message that helped me resolve this issue. Win2k3 defaults to not using full hardware acceleration. Adjust the setting in the display control panel and now PVRx2 comes up fine.
