I used gbpvr a lot over Christmas, and although 90% successfull I had two glitches with recordings:

One film recorded fine, but never showed up in the recordings library as ready, or what's new, or failed. To play it I had to go though the video library (I have the recordings drive as one of the directories available for videos). Any idea why this would happen with just one recording?

The second problem was caused by a split program - in the middle of the film there was a 3-minute news update. Because you only see a couple of hours in the TV guide it is quite easy to miss these split programs - unless you really pay attention to the times when setting the recording. In this case I saw the film in the guide, pressed the record button, but actually only got the second half of the film:-( Will have to be more carefull in the future - or hope Sub can accomodate Freeview playback Phase 2 - which handles split recordings.

Yes that would be nice but seeing as they don't use it in NZ I doubt it. I tend to always click 'find all' when setting a recording of a film to make sure I don't miss the second part!

I have lost the 2nd half of two films because of the split with the news. I never thought of using "find all" --Thanks

If you look in the database RECORDING_SCHEDULE table using a tool like SQLiteSpy, does the entry show up? If so, what 'status' does it show?

If someone can make available a 200mb full transport stream from the day one of these types of split programmes occurs, then I'll look into it.

I used SQLiteSPy - the film does not appear in RECORDING_SCHEDULE at all!
But it did record!

I will try to learn what a full transport stream is - and how to capture it. Like most new year resolutions, this may not happen!

Are you possibly using the old Access database? or do you have any batch files in the GB-PVR directory (PostProcessing.bat)? These both have known situations that can result in a recording entry being deleted from the database.

Its typically caused in postprocessing.bat if the user uses a utility to rename or move the recording.

It happens because GB-PVR has logic to delete a recording from the database if the file isnt found on disk (it assumes the user has manually deleted the file), and during these types of operation the file can sometimes not be at the specified location (ie, bad timing and the utility hasnt yet updated the path in the database etc).

Ok thanks. I'm not doing any file moving/renaming so I should be safe.
