Help.

Ok. Here's my question does anyone know which hotfix added DVR-MS recording to XP Professional machine??

My problem, In order to get my new Nova 500 T working with the new hauppauge drivers(4.0) I've updated my machine via windows update.

Yes - I know I should have not bothered...

Anyway now all my recordings are being written in DVR-MS format rather than MPEG. This now means I'm not able to play on my laptop (i know I can add a fix but it's a pain) and it will not play on my Networked DVD player....

Latest it's a real pain for converting to DVD etc....

So I want to stop it but I'm not sure how I got it in the first place.... does anyone know ??

Thanks
Regards Systemshark

All I had to do was to install a mux and select it on the last tab of config to get mpeg rather than dvr-ms

On the Misc tab of the Config app select an MPEG MUX for the "BDA Multiplexer" setting

A mux is needed to stitch audio and video into mpeg. You need to find one - cyberlink one seems ok and register it with windows. GBpvr then needs telling to use it in config. Some info here http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...hlight=mux

and a list of mux's available here:- http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...hlight=mux

Certainly works fine for UK Freeview digital TV. We don't have HD broadcasts at the moment.

Ok thats fixed it.... it's now recording in MPEG files again

Thanks to Martint123 and McBain for the info... Wife and Kids now happy....

I'm going to look into MUXs. Yes I'm using the Cyberlink one, it working like a charm.

elbryyan - I'm also on Freeview in the UK so it looks ok to for digital...
