Timeshifting timeout

Hi Sub,
My first post this year so Happy new year to all,
I have just a quick question about the 10 seconds timeout for file creation when timeshifting start; is it possible to change this value or is it hardcoded in the software?

I'm not sure what 10 second timeout you're talking about, or what this value you refer to is.

When you start timeshift mode it does take a few seconds to hook up things. It wouldnt usually take 10 seconds. Its usually somewhere in the 2 - 6 second range, but 10 seconds isnt unheard of particularly for digital devices where the mux filter can take a few seconds before it'll start delivering data.

Sorry, I was not so detailed in my explanation.
I'm testing a new mdapi plugins that takes very long time to initialize the first time it's used (about 15 seconds).
So watching live tv is not a problem because this module shows no signal but continue to wait, timeshifting (and recording) if after 10 seconds no file is created stop itself and write this message in the PVRX2.exe-native.log:
2008-01-06 18:16:21.062 ERROR DirectShowHelperVMR9::playFile() - Waited ten seconds, and file size is still zero!!

For the no signal popup message you can get with live preview mode, you can increase the <NoSignalPopupDelay> setting in config.xml.

For timeshift mode you can bump up the <LiveTVPrePlayDelay>. Set it to about as long as it could take you plugins to start delivering data.

<LiveTVPrePlayDelay> max value is 4000 ms, not enough for my test. The 10 seconds timeout message show up again.

I made other tests and I see that the problem is not the plugin but the mdapifilter version:
If I use the original one downloaded from your site startup speed is very fast but no multi-instance is possible.
Using the latest version available posted by stevie77 is very slow to initialize but should permit multi-instance. (I can't test due to the timeout error)
