As an update.
This morning I got an empty TV guide again - that is it is full of 30 minute slots of no details.

It certainly looks like it loaded your EPG without any problems furing the last automated update.

If you just restart PVRX2.exe, do the listings show up?

No I don't think it did - I went to the system menu and hit update epg, it bought up xmltvGui and everything loaded up.

It's difficult to see whats happening. Is it the same code as the update epg button but just called when the update time arrives?
Is the sequence of events - clear epg, fire up xmltv, then load xml. So if xmltvGui failed does it timeout waiting?
I guess it does not load up the old xml file.

This morning the server did have a full EPG. (one of my temporary clients didn't but thats probably its set up so I'm ignoring that).

Could this be a zoneAlarm issue?

Last night zoneAlarm went nuts and was taking 99% CPU. So I closed it down, restarted the PC with no zoneAlarm. So it could either be the restart, no zoneAlarm or the .NET2 SP1 I added (this was the first restart since adding it).
