Now that BBC have decided to use a Flash player rather than a P2P client is there anyway to integrate it into GBPVR. Here is a link of somebody that has done a simple integration for MythTV http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/BBC_iPlayer

I have found this rather useful thread on iPlayer and the Xbox. They seem to be talking to an actual iPlayer developer. The BBC seem to be keen to take it to as many platforms as possible.

Serendipitious! I was just about to post a similar thread. I've just started using iPlayer and the Channel 4 OD (On Demand) equivalent, and would love to be able to play the downloaded content back using GBPVR.

I thought the main issue would be that this content is DRM'd, and controlled such that it can't be played back once it expires. However, while the C4 offering users its own playback application, iPlayer allows you to use any player (I used WMP last night on a BBC4 prog), so I assume the DRM stuff isn't tied into the player.

I think with the rise of on demand content over broadband, this sort of thing is going to be much more prevalent, and it would be great if GBPVR could manage this content.

I think the download version of iPlayer uses DRM but the online Flash Player version works differently and so has more opportunity for integration.
