I currently use Schedules Direct to recieve my guide info. I have searched the forums, but everything looks a couple of years old. When I record a show, it gives me the name and date in the title. Is there any way that I could get the name, season, & episode in the title?

Sorry, there is nothing built in that would do this. The naming convention is hard coded to what you current get.

You might take a look at AddEpisode, it may do what you are looking for.

My New XMLTV Enhancer is in beta for that feature. It will download the season and spisode numbers for a list of shows you specify. (Not ALL of them, that would take forever)

Add Episode and ZRename both find the episode information after recording is complete, and then renames the recorded file.

My Enhancer will get and display the Season and Episode info in the EPG guide.

Very soon I will be writing a companion program that will take the recorded filename and rename it using the already downloaded information (minimize bandwidth)

I saw zRename is the wiki and thought it would serve my purpose, but then I read "ZRename is failing. This may be because of changes with epguides.com". Does anyone know if ZRename is working?

I don't want to overcomplicate the situation. I currenly only use GBPVR to record OTA. I stream the programs to network media players using software called Swisscenter. The new version of Swisscenter will retrieve episode information if the filename is in a ProgramName.Season#.Episode# format. I am looking for an easy way to rename the file without having to do it manually. If ZRename is working, it woulds like a winner.

I think addepisode will do what you want.

I saw that, but it looks like you have to manually create a text file for each episode. If I am going to look it up online and modify a text file, I can just manually change the file name. It isn't automating the process.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

ZRename uses epguides.com to get it's information. If there are any changes to the web site, then the program will fail. Some programs have ep pages that aren't the standard on epguides.com, so it won't work with that show either. As mentioned in many places, I lost my source code for ZRename and so I couldn't update, or bug fix the program.

What the enhancer can do is find your information even before the file is recorded. Then, as I said, a companion program will do the actual file renaming for you...

AddEpisode will add the episode title to the title when it renames the recorded file (as ZRename does, and my new tool will do) after the recording is done.

But the Enhancer will also unhide lots of other information in the EPG...

I get that you want it to be easy, without having to configure manually.

The enhnacer will get episode information for all series that are recurring scheduled. So select in the GB-PVR Guide, "Star Trek" for everyday/week etc, and each night when you do your EPG update, the Enhancer will get the Ep data, and toss into the EPG guide for you...
