I don't even know where to start with it Big Grin

I guess I'm hesitant to move away from I-XMLTV because it is working right now. This is usually my downfall in that once I have something working, I must play around until I break it. :p

Do I sense that you're interested in trying the enhancer, but scared you will break something? Well, it's true that it's a little a little more difficult installing Ultra when you are already using I-XMLTV. But I switch between the two all the time, so I'd be happy to give you the steps, and then you can always switch back if you want.

First question before I list the steps, Are you using the UpdateEPG.bat from the gbpvr folder or Task Scheduler to launch I-XMLTV ?

If it's the batch file, change the .bat extension to a .txt and then send it too me. I'll have a look and tell you what to do after that...

Yes, I'm definitely interested in using it, as it seems to be more flexible than I-XMLTV.

I use the UpdateEPG.bat to update, but that file just points to my I-XMLTV.bat file. So I've attached that instead.

Thanks!

Well that's good. Now we know how to disable it and enable. IN your UpdateEPG.bat, just put a rem in front of the line...

Code:
rem c:\i-xmltv\i-xmltv.bat

Now you should follow the directions for installing Plain Jane vanilla xmltv

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utility/Xmltv

Once that is installed , configured and downloading, then you follow the instructions for instaling the Enhancer.

If you are lost, I'll help, but I'm also checking to see if the docs make sense

Thanks, I will try it out in the next couple days and get back to you.

I'm having a few problems with GBPVR that seem to be just me, so I am thinking of reinstalling. So that will give me time to play with it a little. Or I will use my desktop to play around with it until I get it working the way I'd like it.

I just had to spend 2 hours last night redoing the channel mapping because the cable company changed our channel lineup. :mad:

Next time save your time and run this batch file. It's perfect for when the cable company changes the listings...

Dang, I wish I saw that before. I had to delete all my recurring recordings because the channel numbers were all wrong. :mad:

zehd,

I got around to playing with UltraXMLTV on my desktop... as my wife had the HTPC occupied last night Big Grin

I think I've replicated the exact layout I had for I-XMLTV, which is great. One question though, the audio tag doesn't seem to work. My EPG data has this as an audio tag
Code:
<audio>
<stereo>stereo</stereo>
</audio>
I have the audio tag to append to the description, but it never does. Does it have to do with the embedded stereo tag?

I'm still playing around with the categories and episode options. Not sure what the episode option does for me though. I also can't seem to change the color for a category.

Oh, BTW, the photos on the wiki are from an old version, so they don't jive with the new one. That made it somewhat confusing.

I'll look into why the audio is not going across. I'll update the wiki.

I found a couple small bugs the last couple of days, so I'll be posting an update tonight...

When I go into the Category details, by default, there are 5 Genre Groups: Adult, Movie, Paid, SciFi/Fantasy and Sports. Problem, I cannot delete the SciFi/Fantasy group (by editing the GenreGroups.ini), somehow it keeps reappearing.

I also cannot change any of the Genre Groups color. I get the "For some reason, you can't use that colour. Pick another." error.
