Ah Here's The Solution:
cablemonkey Wrote:Well, through some investigation i found it is possible to reference NFS/SMB stored materials via URLs through an HTTP server. The format i've found is as follows:

<share> must be one of the pre-defined shares, and is specified like they show up in the PH UI
Code:
(device::shared:path for NFS and device:shared:path for SMB)
with the : delimiter. <path> is the path beyond the share, and uses the normal / delimiter.

** EDIT **

To play VOBs, instead of having a vod attribute specified in the href tag, add a zcd="2". So, an href tag to access a DVD backup stored as vobs would look something like this:

<a href="file:///opt/sybhttpd/localhost.drives/nas1:Confusedhare:flash:data:video/Ikiru" zcd="2">

note that nas1:Confusedhare:flash:data:video is a pre-defined network share, under which there is a folder called "Ikiru" which contains a valid VIDEO_TS folder with the IFO/VOBs. I think you also have to have already accessed the referrenced share atleast once through the normal PH gui, so it will already have "logged on" to the share (i believe by calling smbclient.cgi). I've not verified this yet.

I've not tested an ISO file, but i should have one i can test with tomorrow night (uploading to my NSLU can take like 2 hours)

So, knowing this, if we set up our shares on the PCH and let GBPVR know where they are, we can use smb/nfs shares now which will allow us to play ISO's with menu support. I suppose the option to use LiveTV/RecordeTV via share could be added too

I'll try DVD playback using this method in a few days when I'm back home.

I don't know what I did but I can't view LiveTV or watch recordings anymore. the PCH flashes buffering, returns to the screen and seems to shift the page up one line. And I don't see any request for the media in the PCH Screen.

Any Ideas what happened?

Start by looking at recording first, since live tv is a little more complex and more things can go wrong. Does that recording play ok on the PC? What file extension does that video file have? (avi/mpg/dvr-ms/ts?)

Both MPG and TS play fine on the PC. It's as if the PCH isnt requesting the file to be played once I hit enter on the remote. when it returns to the menu it seems to shift the screen up a little. I reinstalled the PCH-Bridge and Patched PVRX2 as well. Its weird. Iit was working good. Then I manually added some EPG channels for PPV (I had a few test ones before I brok it that worked) after that is when it stopped working. I even tried removing the channes and the problem still persists.

Unfortunately the cause isnt obvious to me in the logs and I'm away from home at the moment so cant look at my files to check. I'll be back home on Tuesday so bump the thread sometime around then if you dont find the cause. Sorry.

Whatever my problem is, once it happens, no media will play on the PCH, including on the internal HD. Once I reboot it works again untill I try the GBPVR client again... I think I'll reflash my FW

Ok, reflashing the FW got Recorded TV wotking. Still no LiveTV though. Still looking for the cause. I just don't see the HTTP request from the PCH requesting the media file.

Samething happening here. I thought I got it somewhat working last week. Watched a movie with some minor glitches. But now I can't start Live TV anymore. Tried restarting the PH and GBPVR but haven't got it to work again. This is very strange because I don't do anything differently than last week.
