big difference: Are you adding new recurring shows, or are they already in the list? If they are new, then it takes a bit before the Enhancer can Enhance the same show. (I have a fix on the way for that)

Let me give you an example of what I'm faced with and tell me if it's happening to you.

(Start off with no CSI in Recurring Schedule...)

OK, IN TV Guide find a CSI: Miami (eg) and select Season Record.

In Recurring panel, you see:

CSI: Miami - Lame Episode Title...

Now you want to see the Season and Episode titles... Here's the problem...

You redownload your xmltv, and run the enhancer, update your GB-PVR EPG and even restart the recording service for good measure.

You pop into the Recording, Recurring Panel and the Episiode information is still not there. Sound familar? It's a sortof bug, or designed 'feature' in GB-PVR that I have found a work around.

Is that what you mean, the Enhancer seems to download the season/episode information, and it updates the XMLTV, but GB-PVR does not display the new information?

First, let me say thank you for your efforts! This utility is a great idea and you have clearly been working very hard on it (I’m having a tough time keeping up the updates, and I'm not doing any of the work :p). I am having trouble getting the UltraXMLTV utility to work with Schedules Direct. I have GBPVR download from SD directly (set it up in the EPG source in the GBPVR config utility to “Schedules direct”). I also have it save a copy of the XML file to the hard drive…this is the file I’m trying to use. When I try to load it in UltraXMLTV by clicking “go”, it fetches data from TVdb.com, but then says “finished” and under the go button it still says 0 of 0 and none of the categories has a check mark by it (I had “gather categories” checked). I’ve attached the XML files in case that helps. Any idea how I can get UltraXMLTV to read in this file?

That makes sense. I do not expect the UltraXMLTV utilities to work at all with any listing service that is native in GB-PVR (SD and CTpvr)

The listings have to be downloaded, enhanced and then imprted. You can't have GB-PVR import/download the listings, save it as an xml file, enhance it and then reimport it...

That's why I provided a great way to get the SD listing using xmltv.exe. (NOT to be confused with I-XMLTV)

Have a look: http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Utility/Xmltv

what appeared to be happening with the enhancer was its creating the episodes/series.xml files with the correct info inside, but it wasnt applying that info to the final yapixml.xml file (before gbpvr had a chance to import it)

these werent shows set to record in gbpvr, they were just shows i manually added to the epfetchinclude.

weird thing is...now most of the shows with ":" are working. the testing i've been doing since i thought there was a problem with colon in the show was start with a fresh and up to date yapixml.xml then:

1) rename the TVdbXML folder (so the enhancer would redo it in case there was a problem in the folder itself)

2) backup the fetchepinclude file and delete the contents of the original

3) manually enter some shows with colons in the title into the epfetchinclude (using the config episodes tab of the gui)

run the enhancer (with commit changes enabled) and then check the enhanced yapixml.xml

i had done it this way several times and always had the same result - series.xml and episodes.xml files with the correct info but not being applied to the final yapixml.xml.

this last run almost everything worked...but...

when i click the config ep tab of the gui and enter "csi: ny" or "blade: the series", it says an exact match was found but lists no episode info. episode info for "csi: ny" is available at both thetvdb. and epguides. episode info is for "blade: the series" is at epguides, but thetvdb.com lists the series as simply "blade"

most of these shows (with the exception of law & order - and spinoffs) i dont really even watch, its just something i noticed when trying to figure out the law & order prob.

I appreciate you trying different shows, even if you don't watch them. You're making the program better for other people.

I noticed that you're a little lazy with the caps key when you type. Unfortunately, when you give me examples, you have to try to show me exactly what you type...

Now I did try all sorts of combinations of CSI: NY with spaces, (I know that the colon is already removed, not worrying about it...)

Although I know that I fixed the colon issue, you have certainly found another issue. It's probably not so much an issue with the enhancer as an idiosyncrasy with TVdb.com that I will have to work around...

Since you're actually looking for trouble, here's something you can play with.

Open a browser and paste in this URL

Code:
http://thetvdb.com/interfaces/GetSeries.php?seriesname={[SeriesName]}

Replace the [SeriesName] with whatever you want to search for. Remember the rules, you can't use colons and ampersands. But it will auto adjust spaces and other characters.

In the example I use 'Star Trek' (caps and spaces...)

In the browser, I get xml for the series... IN there, you'll see the first exact match for Star Trek. There are others below it, but only one exact match. I jot down the id (77526) for Star Trek and then use it for the next URL

Code:
http://thetvdb.com/interfaces/GetEpisodes.php?seriesid=77526

These steps show me that I have a match for the Series and Episodes. I can then get Season and Episode info.

Now let's try CSI NY...

CSI doesn't work. CSI NY doesn't work. How about 'Crime Scene' This loose search should get me something...

Well from this xml,, I learned that TVdb calls CSI 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation'. And there's no Problem with CSI:Miami But I can't get the New York show. It's like it doesn't exist...

If you can find it, I will see if I can get it working... It should be working with epguides (the second opinion) I'll have to see why it doesn't even try and get info from there...

Works for me with simply replacing spaces with "%20". You can also replace ":" with "%3A"

CSI: NY
Code:
http://thetvdb.com/interfaces/GetSeries.php?seriesname=csi:%20ny
http://thetvdb.com/interfaces/GetSeries.php?seriesid=73696

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation
Code:
http://thetvdb.com/interfaces/GetSeries.php?seriesname=csi:%20crime%20scene%20investigation
http://thetvdb.com/interfaces/GetSeries.php?seriesid=72546

You know, I was checking the tvdb forums, and they were talking about work on the server. Although it wasn't scheduled last night supposedly.

I try that stuff now, and it works, but it was probably just bad luck for me when I tried and nsti2tion when he tried...

I'm glad it's working

-- I'm lazy about a lot of things these days Smile That's easy enough for me to work on! Right now I'm having a slight problem with my PVR comp taking forever to boot, so I'll have to work on that for a bit first (or Ghost it from a couple of days ago)

Thanks for looking in to all this stuff and hopefully I'll be able to check on the TVdb.com stuff in a bit.

That's cool. If you noticed in the last couple of posts, it does look like we had some bad timing while testing. It works fine now, with a tiny tweak, that I uploaded this morning...

Thanks for your help and good luck getting your computer working again.

You really gotta stop tweaking that thing Big Grin

Yeah i should...Must have a nasty virus (all my A/V keeps disabling on startup even after manually changing the service to autostart). Luckily the wireless keeps disabling too Smile. Time to Ghost it back.
