Sorry, my bad. I have fixed it now though. Please run it again and it should update now.

Cheers
andydixon Wrote:Firstly, thanks a lot Xanth for developing this tool. Your work is much appreciated.

This morning I spotting on the wiki that you'd released version 2.2.1 so I upgrade. When I ran GetGuide.bat djkxml checked for a new version and it appears that it only found 2.2.0. So it looks like it's downloaded 2.2.0 and effectively downgraded me, which in turn caused problems due to me adding C4 to my config file which is not recognised by version 2.2.0. I'm guessing this just means that the site the the auto updater checks for new versions has not been updated with 2.2.1 yet???

Anyway, I'm happy using 2.2.0, but it would be great to see the new features and channels in 2.2.1.

Thanks
Andy

Hi there,
Can anybody tell me what the importance is of the channelIDs?
I have found that I have duplicated the ChannelID on a couple of channels which make's the update fail. I know that each channel, regardless of its name, requires a unique ID but is the actual ID important?

What I would like to know is, is there a "published" channelID list for each channel.
Eg TV1 = 1
TV2 = 2
TV3 = 3
UKTV = 6
etc etc

Or should I randomly make up channelIDs as new channels come alone?

Cheers

The channelID relates the programmes to the channel. Having two channels using the same ID would be an invalid xmltv file and the application would have no way to know which programmes were for which one of the duplicate channels.

They can be whatever you want, but they need to be unique.

If the ID was numeric then the app assumes this is also the preferred channel number for that channel, which is convenient since it takes away the need for the user having to enter the channel numbers next to each channel - but if you're going to have a clash, then just give one of the channels some otrher made up channel number.

Hi Xanth,

I'm really liking djkxml, thanks a lot for your hard work.

Just one thing I've noticed recently. Show with long titles seem to be getting cut off after about 30 characters. Not sure if this is an issue with the info coming from your source or if it's getting truncated somewhere in your software. Anyway it would be nice to be able to get the full title if possible.

eg yesterday 27 Jan on tv2:

<title lang="en">Sunday Summer Blockbuster: Mon</title>

Should have been "Sunday Summer Blockbuster: Monsters Inc.

Thanks a lot

Thank you, I'm pleased that more and more users are using it. It makes it worth while putting in the effort.

Unfortunately, it is due to the source which is http://www.telstraclear.co.nz/residentia...g-grid.cfm

There's another one at 7:30pm on Monday 28th Jan. TV2: Says: "Extreme Makeover: The Home Edi" when it should say "Extreme Makeover: The Home Edition"

I am currently working on extending other channel download days and using tvnz as my source for tv1 and tv2 which should fix the short name problem. But that is quite a major change so if there are any users out there willing to be beta testers.....

I am wanting a few beta testers for version 2.3.0

If there are any out there, please either email me listed in the wiki page or reply to this post and we'll sort something out.

Cheers.

thanks for this software, has been very reliable for me, just a note that some movie titles get cut off because they are too long.
