Thanks for the tip on the new show "*". The "-" fixed the problem.

As for the actors issue, you are correct...I want to see the cast and credits in the description, but the way I have configured UltraXMLTV it is not accomplishing this. Processing a fresh xml file, I do get check marks for these categories when I load in the file with "gather categories" checked. Any idea why the program is not appending these to the description with the way I have it configured? Look back at the files and screen shots I uploaded in the first message for an example UltraXMLTV screen shot and the before/after xml files. You will see UltraXMLTV correctly trimmed off any <actor> tags beyond the first 4 I requested it to show, but then it left them as separate tags and did not append them to the description tag. Is there something more I need to do to get it to append these to the description tag?

I was going to say, that the new version saves your reg settings to a txt file. You can send that to me and I can look at how you've got it...

I was going to say that I can't see the screenshots from your first message.

But I think I know what is happening... I think that you don't have the action set for 'Credits'. That acttion applies to actors, guest directors and writers.... Rather than having a separate action for each sub cast tag, I put in just one for Credits...

If that didn't nail it, then downbload and install the latest version and send me the UltraXMLTV_Regsettings.txt file...

Seems that movie and show titles are getting cut (IE)

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles ---> inator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, The

Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby ----> adega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, The(2006)(2*)

Oddly enough neither had a The in the front either but it seems to have been stuck in. (I am using the move "the, a" feature for titles.

Let me know if I need to post the logs or reg file

Yup. I have Terminator in my line up to. It's a long title. It's probably too long for everybody... not just UltraXMLTV users. It's nothing to do with me, it's the skin and the plugin. I suppose the skin author could have the title field wrap, but that would be ugly for sure...

The 'the ,a ," feature will will remove the first instance of The or A (or whatever) on the left of the title. Using the move option moves it to the right side...

However , I don't have it search and replace from anywhere within the string -- only the left. Which is the most logical. I can't see the benefit of a title:

I'm using yapi (or whatever it's called) to get program guide info. I wanted to get some more information from it so I configured ultraxmltv to do that. It says there's a bunch of tags on the gui, I select them, configure everything per instructions, update and.... nothing. NOTHING I try allows for any extra information. I even try the update directly to database and I just get nothing. I spent like 4 hours on this and it just doesn't do anything (that I could notice. I does create the new file, but somehow not getting into gbpvr).

Is it possible the Yahoo source doesn't have any more information?

I'm am totally out of ideas. Maybe another enhancement program? I tried the EPG one for about an hour with no luck when I realized it no longer worked because it only works with the now defunct zap2it service.

I really love this product, but the documentation and instructions on many of the plugins leave ALOT to be desired.

Please help...

Actually the text I am giving is directly from the altered XML file that Uxmltv.exe outputs so its not the skin in this case it is

1) is inserting a random "the" that shouldn't be there at all

2) cutting of the text off

Sorry I didn't notice. OK So you showed the literal strings that were output, and you were using the Title exclude, with the Move Options?

(The late4st version outputs a regsettings file, that would be great to see...)

Could you donwload the latest version, and then try one more time, (check the Commit Changes)
and then send me the regsetting.txt that is created...
