New version of MovieWiz released. I didn't get all the new features I wanted added, but I will be travelling next week and wanted to release what I had completed. I won't be able to fix bugs until I get back, but I will key an eye on the forum and respond to what I can.

There are quite a few changes in this version, I may have missed documenting a few of them.

Enjoy...

01/31/2008 : 1.0.14.0 (WizUiHelper 1.0.15.3, WizWebHelper 1.0.5.1)
  • MovieWizManager - Added to Start-Programs button under GB-PVR→WizTools
  • MovieWizManager - Added command-line batch interface. From CMD prompt, type MovieWizManager -help for syntax.
  • Config - Added Client mapping to allow client to play movies located on directories on the server. The idea is to map server local path to UNC which gets translated at runtime.
  • Config - Add ability to sort by create date in config program. This should make it easier to identify and manage newly loaded entries.
  • Config - Added Archive Sync ability to adjust db for archived videos. If entry is not found on file system, program scans archive directories/sub directories and adjusts db entry to found location.
  • Config - Add ability to load and play DVDs images from the hard drive.
  • Plugin - When playing a category (Press play when Category list has focus), you can now Play All, Play Random, or Cancel.
  • Modified WizWebHelper to get better hit ratio on Yahoo for thumbnails.
  • Added option in config to control the Whats New category. If checked, once a movie is viewed, it will be dropped from Whats New, if not checked, it will stay in Whats new until the # of days expires.
  • Added PlayCategoriesPopup.xml skin

Awesome! Thanks JW!

(Still keen on a (manual) delete button (in GBPVR) once played/watched, so you don't have to go and find it in the Video list (or in Xrecord) and delete it).

MW seems to have problems with shows that are quoted?
e.g. in my EPG, "Dante's Peak" (WITH quotes) which turns into a file called something like _Dante's Peak_DDMMYYYY.mpg i.e. quotes " turn to underscores _.

When I remove the leading "_" IMDB finds a title and image very quickly.

IIRC we talked at one time about adding a comma delimited list so that folks could manually fine-tune mostly leading but also trailing characters that were to be ignored. Perhaps for the next one :-).

Cheers

I second that!

Quote:(Still keen on a (manual) delete button (in GBPVR) once played/watched, so you don't have to go and find it in the Video list (or in Xrecord) and delete it).

And I second this as well Smile I use your Episode tweaker tool to rename all my films "Movie" & use the sub title for the actual name of the film, this makes it a real pain to have to go to the built in Recordings screen & find the film I have just watched (as they sort in there by date recorded) so I can delete it.

One more thing I just looked at modifying the new PlayCategoriesPopup.xml skin file to go with my Blue-Retro-SHV large font skin & is there any way to make the buttons bigger as I get "Play Rando" for the center button?

There is a "Hide Entry" in the Info view for a movie. This will remove it from showing in the plugin. There is also a feature in the MovieWizManager to Delete Hidden entries.

Will these two features satisfy your needs?

I am using the CompositeImages
"PopupCenterButtonNormal", "PopupCenterButtonSelected" to display those buttons. Those settings can be found in the BaseSkin.xml. Keep in minde, if you change these settings ALL plugins using those compositImages will be affected.

I vaguely remember some conversation around this, but it must have got dropped from the TODO (or never added). I will add it to the TODO list, and for your specific quote problem, I may provide a fix as I get into the code next time.

Hmm... for me, this is a bit of two step thingy, furst you have to go to the Movie, Hide it, tehn to MW and say Delete Hidden entries.

99% of the time when I want to delete it is JUST after I watched it, i.e. from the GBPVR Plugin. So a big fat "Delete" Button next to "Watch" in the plugin would be the best place for this for me, personally speaking.

Right, that is what the Hide is for (it's next to the Watch or Ext Player button if one is defined). Then, since now MovieWizManager has a batch interface, you can schedule the hidden entries to be delete automatically in the batch run.

Ding! That'll work too, I guess .... I wanted to avoid having to MANUALLY go into MW to perform the delete, but if you can HIDE it and schedule a MW run, to delet hidden entries you're happy. I suppose one irskome fellow will say how about I want to hide and delete some entries and others I want to hide but NOT delete.... well, that irskome fellow would be me :-)
