zehd Wrote:You're absolutely correct...

Code:
C:\EPG\UltraXMLTV_Enhancer\UltraXMLTV_Enhancer.exe c:\epg\xmltv.xml

IN the above example, the enhancer will process the xmltv file in the c:\epg folder. Check where you xmltv file is being created. if it's in the Yapi folder, your updateEPG may look like this

Code:
"c:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Third Party\yapi2xml\yapi2xml.exe" update

"C:\EPG\UltraXMLTV_Enhancer\UltraXMLTV_Enhancer.exe" "c:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Third Party\yapi2xml\yapi2xml.xml"

Remember to edit the lines to reflect the real paths. If I remember correctly, you didn't have the enhancer in the default location...

Hey all, thanks for the help, but it's back again.

Apparently putting it right after the update didn't do the trick. It seems to update, and overwrite changes.

Should I put it in the post processing bat file? Any ideas?

Thanks

No. It would have noyjing to do with the PostProcessing.bat. Could be you have something you shouldn't in the PostUpdateEPG.bat.

I tell you what. Can you give me a couple of more days? I'm almost ready to release a wizard/manager that will help get this working for you.

It's obvious that there is something else involved. If you have your updateepg.bat correct, that means that gb-pvr is still importing an original file after the fact.

My manager will endeavour to catch those type of issues...

Sorry Zehd, I jumped the gun. There was a problem with my bat file - I forgot the space after calling ultra_xmltv for the file location. That, and then after that I had the wrong target file (a typo). Luckily, the nice logging provided caught the typo Big Grin

Thanks for everything..

----

OOps, even though I fixed that, the guide is showing up unenhanced. I think it reads in the normal file, uxmltv enhances it, but it never reads the new enhance one again. I got it to do it the other day by moving the UPDATEEPG.BAT file out of the directory, and forcing an update. That way it had to read what was there and not go out and get it again. I think I may have to screw around with the bat files. Any suggestions?

It suddenly occurred to me that if I recal you used to use schedules direct native, and then I suggested to use the xmltv tool. But did you set the capture sources?

http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Manual/EPG#toc36

THat would make sense, that whenever you update the epg, GB-PVR is still importing the native schedules direct data, rather than the xml file that should have been assigned to your capture sources.

The new manager will catch this, but for now check it out...

Zehd, everything is working great with an exception or two. Does a show title HAVE to be listed at TVdb.com? I've got a couple of shows that aren't listed there but are at Epguides.com. ie:
If I enter "Murder By The Book", the enhancer stores the following in the TVdbXML folder:

"Murder By The Book.series.xml" (with a list of 'close' titles inside)
"Murder By The Book.episodes.xml" (with episodes for 'Diagnosis Murder' - which is actually at the bottom of the 'close to' list in series.xml)
"Murder By The Book.wrong.data"

The enhancer doesn't seem to check Epguides.com to correct this (I'm assuming because the enhancer is returning a wrong.data file from TVdb.com)

My 2nd question is about the season and episode info returned by the enhancer. Does the episode name have to be an EXACT match between yapixml and the episodes.xml in order to be applied? What I mean is:

yapixml returns an episode of "Courage The Cowardly Dog" as 'Scuba Scuba Doo; Conway the Contaminationist' (note the 'semicolon<space>' as the separator). The enhancer's epidode.xml shows it as 'Scuba Scuba Doo / Conway the Contaminationist' (note the separator here is '<space>/<space>'. Season/Episode info is not applied by the enhancer. I'm assuming t's because there's not an exact match.

Thanks again

Here's the answer to both questions: Yes.

At least currently, if it ain't in TVdb, it creates the .Wrong.Data file. THat prevents the episode lookup from trying ever again. That means it doesn't even get a chance to go for a second opinion.

As I did some reserach, I discovered that although both TVdb and EpGuides are fan driven and maintained, TVdb seemed to be the most complete. It also included more shows from abroad. EpGuides seemed to be more North American...

That's why I did it like that. OK So I'd really love it if you just accept the Enhancer for what it is, and let me sleep.... but I guess I could modify the code so that it will still check EpGuides if TVdb fails. I guess if there are no files at EpGuides either, we can can stop searching.

I WILL NOT BE ADDING SUPPORT FOR OTHER SEARCH ENGINES

(Ok, Maybe)

As far as the matching, Basically, it's the same method for both TVdb and EpGuides.

The search string is sent to see if it is in the Line data of the xml, or html. Before, both sides if the equation is made Upper case, removed spaces and punctuation. And with TVdb, I get the bonus check of the found Episode title in the Search string (reverse instr sort of)

Anyway, this seems to be good for almsot everything. But there's no account for typos, and a Fan's 'preferred' spelling.

I have Family Guy and Simpsons working really well, but there are still episodes that it can't get..

Another Simpson Clip Show <> Another Simpsons Clip Show

See, it seems the networks aren't even accurate, and so, because there is no 'written in stone' authority available for all shows, I think I will be leaving this. Of course I still want to hear reports, but I suspect you have already done a lot deeper search, and recognize the discrepancies...

But when the Networks write "Kiss heard 'round the world", and both TVdb and EpGuides have it "Kiss heard around the world" there's nothing I can do.

You should see the errors for Two and a Half Men... It's like the writer is always drunk or something...

Thanks Zehd, but it's totally broken now. No matter what I do, it won't pickup any enhancements. I've mess around with batch files all day. I'll just wait for your new release and go from there.

Oh, I've always been using xmltv via yapi..

Yeah, you're right. Wasn't sure if there was an easy workaround/fix.

Hey I was just poking fun, BTW. I have way too much fun doing this.

I am starting to work on my ZProcess Project though...
