I have an 8ft bed in my truck and I've already filled it with mulch once from just the small limbs. I've got about a third of them up. I will start work on the plugin again by tomorrow night though.

I am anxiously waiting for your latest version. I just upgraded my TV to a 42" Plasma HDTV and with the new unlimited watch now capability my movie watching has completely changed. The one thing I do not like about the Watch Now as it stands is that I have to go through a browser (it is hard to read the text and I don't want to have to use my wireless keyboard). Your plug in will solve my problems!
I came across this article yestarday. It looks like Vista Media Center will have a similar pulgin for their users as well Stream Netflix Watch Now Movies, Manage Queue in Media Center with MyNetflix Later David

I looked at the MyNetflix plugin. The WatchNow feature of it just opens a browser window inside the MCE UI. I could easily do something like that as well but I am trying for better integration. The DRM take away the easy part of doing that though. I can easily download the file but getting the rights to play it is another issue.
On a side note: I have found a way to get a higher quality stream than your internet connection is capable of. You will need a longer buffer time but I will add a "download to watch later option" You will need to watch it within about 24 hours though or the rights will expire.

Yea, I just saw that too:

Yeah. I am also looking into the idea of modifying the Netflix player skin to just match GB-PVR. This might be the best option as it will take care of the DRM liscense automatically. I can capture remote commands to take care of the pause, play, fullscreen, etc.
Now that I voice that, I think that will probably be the way I go. I'll work on actually getting it to work then worry about modifying the skin though. If anyone is interested in helping with the modification, let me know. I'll tell you how to do it.

Whurlston,
This sounds great. I've been following this thread for some time now. I tried it once, but it just crashed. I tried installing the older CommonUtilities, but that didn't help. Perhaps copying the skin files will make it work. Does the scheduling stuff work on an MVP? I am mostly interested in the 'Watch Now' function. Would 'Watch Now' work on the GBPVR server but not on the MVP? Would 'Watch Later' work on the MVP? Just added a second MVP to my system. If you need an alpha/beta tester, I'd be happy to help out.

Everything except the Watch Now stuff should work on the MVP. Unfortunately, I can't think of any way that would make the Watch Now part work on the MVP except for stripping the DRM then transcoding the video. I won't be adding any DRM stripping capabilities though. I also don't have an MVP so I would not be able to test anything.

I'm joining this late. Any chance this would work with 0.99.12? Looks great!

I wouldn't think that there would be a problem with this as long as it opened to "Full Screen" mode when you hit play. I do like your idea of skinning it to look like GBPVR so that it appears seamless. whurlston Wrote:On a side note: I have found a way to get a higher quality stream than your internet connection is capable of. I would be really interested in this feature . I have had problems with the buffer keeping up with the movies I am watching. I have one question though. How long after I select download to watch later would I be able to start watching the movie? If it is under an hour I would thing that would be ok (especially, if the the watch now option was still available). I just can't wait to put my keyboard back on my shelf and get my remote back into my hands to watch movies. On a slightly related note. Has anyone heard what Netflix's plan is with watch now. Are they going to start making new releases avaialble to watch now or are they going to keep it to movies that have a little dust on their covers? Later David |
