Hi everybody,

first of all: Thanks to sub for this great pice of software! And thanks to all the guys developing these great plugins. After playing around with it for 2 weeks and getting everything running I installed a new 160GB HD for recordings. I moved all recordings to this HD and updated the paths in the Config (I checked the config.xml - they also got properly saved). But still they do not show up in Recordings nor in XRecord (v. 18, just installed).

I am a bit lost now, how to tel gbpvr, that the recordings are all there under the new path.

Any idea?

Thanx in advance,
Piotre

I believe the problem you are experiencing is caused by the fact that GBPVR and its plugins keep track of recordings via a database, not simply checking the contents of the directory (in contrast, My Videos does work that way).

The database includes the full path and filename of the file in which the recording was originally recorded to - when you move the file, GBPVR can no longer find it where it thinks it should be.  The database scheme is needed to store extrinsic programming info that cannot be kept within the .mpeg file itself (such as description of the show recorded, etc.).

The only way I know to fix this is to actually modify your .mdb file to reflect the new file path of your recordings.  Perhaps a small utility could be coded to do tasks such as this.

Well thank you for the quick reply. Now my database skills are pretty limited so there is probably not much I can do about it myself. Luckily it was only a couple of recordings yet. I am now at least able to access them through XRecord - Videos. Only they appear not grouped or with a jpg.

xrecord has an export feature. That will export a shows database entries to a file. If you use the archive feature it will export the settings and move it over for you.

The picture will still work and all of the shows info would be there.

I got my recordings back to show under READY but with the full path as a Name (e.g: E:\MyVideos\My Best Friends Wedding\My Best Friends Wedding) and they show up as manually recorded and the default.jpg is not displayed. Not quite what I wanted to have but better than before.
I did it by editing (after backing up ;-)) the gbpvr.mdb, more specifically the the RECORDING_SCHEDULE table. The only colum i could not sort out what it does is the programme_oid.

Probably there is something else that needs to be edited to make it show only the titel.
