Hi

I'm getting overlapping shows for some channels. They are remnents of a previous EPG.
I have read and taked on the forum about using the batch file "ChangeEPGSources.bat".

But now re-reading the wiki I am wondering if I have set up the DPG correctly. I have 3 TV cards, all with the EPG source set and pointing to the same file. Is that correct? or can I set two of the EPG sources to no EPG and just just have one that ponts to the EPG file?

If I want to use the ChangeEPGSources.bat script, I put it in the gbpvr folder and the what. Does it get picked up automatically or do I need to add it to the UpdateEPG.bat file?

cheers

Keith

You should have all three point at the same file.

I've never heard of ChangeEPGSources.bat.

That batch file is in the wiki page
http://gbpvr.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Manual/EPG#toc38

I'm not sure exactly what it is doing but I was told in the forum that it would clear out the effect I see with the extra program listing.

I assume what has happened is that the EPG has changed the times of the shows by 5 mins and the old recording show detail has been retained somewhere.
See pic for the effect I get and also I get recordings retained for the old EPG times as well as those for the new EPG times.

cheers

I cant provide you any recommendations about that batch file. I dont know anything about it.

As long as 'complete epg reload' is ticked, then the app is supposed to clear out any listings prior to doing an EPG update. I'm aware that there are some situations where it doesnt do its job though, which can end up with the overlap shown above.

I have the complete EPG reload ticked.

I tried to empty EPG in each source and then update EPG for one of the sources (I beleive I only do it once).

Now its worse - I've got 4 simpson shows (previously 3) where there should be 2 Sad

Will these situations be fixed in the next release?

As for the batch file, I think, as it has
call gbpvr.exe -OnlyUpdateEPG
in it then it must be called when pvrx2 is not running, and that command calls the updateEPG.bat.
Actually it looks out of date as I'm using PVRX2.

cheers

I tried the batch file - not change.

The extra listings are not even in the EPG xml.

Can you do an Update EPG from the System screen in PVRX2, then zip and attach the pvrx2.exe.log once it completes?

Here is the log.

I had previously done an empty EPG on the sources in the config.

Then I went to PVRX2 and hit update EPG in the system menu.

Looked at the TV guide and the extra shows are there.

Not sure if this helps but I checked the data base - by dumping to a text file using sqlite. The extra listings are in the PROGRAMME table. There are many listings that are in the file even after doing an empty EPG. Are they marked as old or something? or should they actually be removed from the sql file?
My sql file is 6MB is that normal?

cheers
