PCI-express tuner cards

i built my gbpvr/server pc about 2 years ago
was told yeah get the board with pci-e slots
meaning i lost 2 pci slots
2 years later i have run out of pci slots for the number of tuners i want/need
the machine is almost past its used by date and still there are very few pci express cards on the market

has anyone used a pci express tuner card or a pci express slot for anything other than collecting dust

its all a bit of a joke the whole pci express been the ducks nuts if you ask me

They have been slow coming, but they're starting to appear.

Hauppauge now have a couple US Analog/ATSC/QAM models in the US and I'm sure they'll have PAL Analog/DVB models in the very near future.

I've got my WIFI card on PCIe.
I also have a PCIe Terratec twin DVBT tuner going spare at the moment.

Does anyone know if you can use a PCIe x1 card in a PCIe x16 card slot?

has anybody used a hauppauge hvr 1700 pci-express

the question is does it work with gbpvr
analog and digital(dvb-t)
im guessing it will only record one or the at a time

im almost excited i might get to use the slots with dust in them

I have an HVR2200, but I havnt tried it yet.

It's probably going to be a few weeks until I have enough free time to have a play with it.
