Hi There,
I am trying out the ML2 (latest 6.7beta) on gbpvr 1.1.5 for the first time. This is on a win2k3 server, sp2 with .Net2 libraries installed.
After installation, I set the pvr Config to point to the "C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\Plugins\MusicLibrary2" location for the ML2 .db3 file, added a couple of folders in the local disk e:\ to the "Collections\Paths" tab and upon saving/scanning under the "Library update" tab, I immediately get the following -- it also happens each time I try to run the ML2 from PVRx2 directly -

At which point everything just freezes and I need to kill all gbpvr config, pvrx2 etc. processes and restart. DO I need taglibs or something else? WMP (ver 10.00.00.3998) plays everything on the computers just fine.

Basically, I haven't been able to setup or run ML2 - Please let me know what is it that I am doing wrong or need to fix. Any help/pointers will be greatly appreciated.

Looks like you haven't installed any of the tag readers... see the bit in the wiki...

OK thanks - i didn't realize that the tag readers were mandatory.

I installed both as per the wiki, and went back to config. This time it successfully ran the "scan" on the designated audio folders on the local drive. Next i fire up pvrx2 and now upon running ML2, it gives a different error and everything freezes as before. The current error log is attached.

TIA,
~Neel

But the logs will tell us more..

ok gr8 - I've attached the previous and current error logs in the zip. This also includes the JIT error screen (JIT-ML2error.log) from .net that is presented as soon as the ML2 plug-in is run - then pvr and services need to terminated and restarted to recover.

thanks much.

hmm, not much there to go on.

Have you run a scan? i.e. is there anything in your library - I thought I remembered this as a problem earlier, but that showed itself as an Album art error.

Do you have this file where it's expecting it: C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\skin\blue\MusicLibrary2\skin.xml

Looks like it can't find any skin files.

yes - i nuked the lib and have only 3 songs as a test in a local folder and the scan ran successfully. I turned on deep scan and created some new logs as attached in case that shows something new.
Also the skin xml file as well as the gif/png files are present in the c:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\skin\blue\MusicLibrary2\ folder as expected.

dunno, really stumped.

Umm, one you you could try is copying the skin files from skin\Blue\MusicLibrary2 to skin2\blue\musiclibrary2 - so it's in both locations.

And the next log that you send me, can you look on the machine for the time and tell me what it is with the log. Maybe give it a minute or so after starting before trying to access ML2 - what really gets me is I can't figure out where you are trying to access ML2. I think it the previous log its here:
Code:
2008-03-08 22:04:15.578    VERBOSE    [1]    Skin file not found: C:\Program Files\devnz\gbpvr\skin\MusicLibrary2\skin.xml
