Same url as before.

http://www.epgtools.com/Netflix/WatchNowPlugin.zip

This is extreme alpha. There is no details page yet because I figured the movie was more important.

TV SERIES DO NOT WORK YET.

Select a movie from the list.
Select "Download: [bitrate that you want to download]".
You will then be sent back to the list while the movie downloads in the background.
To watch the movie, select it again but this time choose "Watch". Make sure you choose to watch the same bitrate as you selected for download!!!! In a future build, selecting "Watch" will initiate a download if it needs it.
The player will launch in fullscreen.
There are no ff/rew features until the movie has finished downloading. It's something I have to figure out.
Only one movie can be downloaded at one time! I will probably see about adding the ability to download up to X number of movies later.
The player will start in fullscreen and no mouse controls are available. Keyboard and remote controls are available though. You can <Alt>+<Enter> to exit fullscreen and then have buttons for the mouse. Mouse controls will be added to fullscreen in a later build.
Downloads will continue to work after you exit the plugin. They will stop if you exit GB-PVR.
Downloads are resumed the next time you select that stream for download.

Good luck and enjoy.

IMPORTANT STEP:
After initiating the first download, browse to the Plugins\Netflix\WatchNow folder.
Select the movie and open it in Windows Media Player.
You will be asked to enter your username and password to download the rights to the movie. Go ahead and enter them.
Once the movie starts playing, you can close WMP and then watch movies from the plugin.

This only needs to be done once. All movies will play after performing this step.

Also, make sure that you have logged into the regular Netflix website with "remember me" enabled.

Just the fact that you got this far! Congrats... I know what I'm doing this weekend.

'Sorry hun, the taxes can wait. The dog can pee in the corner, we've got Watch Now!!!'

PS. I haven't tried it yet, but I have faith.

I still don't have the regular NetFlix plugin working. Any idea on what is wrong? I updated CommonGBPVRUtilities.dll to version 3.0.2847.27302 and it still crashes, then I get a white background with a big red X.

This is probably because you don't have the netflix skin folder in the right place. This happened to me as well on the first plugin that lists the top 25 and stuff. Make sure that there is a netflix folder under the ...\devnz\gbpvr\shin2\blue or whichever skin you are currently using.

This happens to me as well.

I also noticed that there wasn't a place to put username and password in the config app. Is that brought over from the other plugin that shows the top 25 movies, ect.?

I have not rebuilt the original Netflix plugin to use the updated CommonGBPVRUtilities.dll yet. The WatchNow plugin uses the updated dll though. I'll rebuild the other one this weekend. Or it could be the skin location issue as elbryyan mentioned.

I'll test that movie and see what the issue is. I suspect it is due to the movie. Which bitrate are you guys trying?

And no, the username is not brought over. The WatchNow plugin is actually reading the Netflix cookie from your machine. Which reminds me: There is one important step I forgot to mention.

The reason for this is that a cookie needs to be set for movielicense.netflix.com on your machine. This step only needs to be done ONCE. All movies will play after this. I will try to figure out a way to write the cookie programatically but I cannot do it with the WMP ActiveX object so I have to figure out a workaround.

Edit: Also, make sure that you have logged into the regular Netflix website with "remember me" enabled.

2001 worked for me. Maybe you selected "watch" rather than "download" as I did the first time.

Also, I tried the MWV trick but was never prompted for the user/pass. It just started to play. Once it is done downloading, I will see if it plays inside PVRX2. However, it seems that when I try to go back into the plugin, it locks everything up every time. I will try a reboot now.

Seems like a good time to start a "Requested Feature" as any good alpha needs.

Let me add mine:

1. Add a "back" option in the dialogue for bit rate. Right now, if you want to exit out, you can not (hitting ESC seemed to give very strange results with the dialog in the background.
2. Community Skin the "Netflix Watch Now" is too long text. Maybe I can rename manually (have not tried) but suggest shorter name.
3. Ability to set a default bitrate because I do not want to always set this.

and the most imporant:
4. Ability to browse to "Your Queue/Instant" so you can Watch Now ones you have already saved instead for searching through all 36000 movies alphabetically.

Great work!

If it doesn't prompt you then don't worry about it. It just means that you already have a cookie for movielicense.netflix.com on your machine.

I checked my code on this and I see the problem. I'll fix it and reupload in a couple of hours.

You can't currently rename it but I can add that feature easily.

Already planned.

5. Ability to delete what you have downloaded from the menu instead of having to manually use Windows Explorer offline to delete them.
