I am really new to this and i can't seem to get any of it to work. If i could get some helpful pointers it would be much appriciated.

Ok. I have a UTV3 box a Vostro 1500 laptop and this software. I have tryed to use everything from SageTV to this and can't seem to get it to work. I just want to turn my laptop into a tivo like device.

I did get the UTV3 box working but the software that came with it is very limited and very buggy.

Laptop spec:
Intel Core 2 Duo T5470 1.6Ghz
4GB, DDR2, 667MHz
120G 5400RPM HD (going to use my 320gb external)
Windows Vista Ultimate x64

UTV3 box:
http://www.amazon.com/NTSC-Tuner-Digital...900&sr=8-1

PS:
UTV3 software crashes every time i try to record :|

Sorry, that capture device isnt compatible with GB-PVR. It lacks the required hardware MPEG2 encoder.

This device just produces raw video rather than encoded video, then uses software to encoder to any of those formats. GB-PVR wont work with this type of device. Instead it requires the card to produce an MPEG2 encoded stream.

If you're in the US and want analog channels, then I'd probably recommend either a Hauppauge PVR150 or HVR1600.

I take it there is no software like gb-prv that can handle the raw video?Sad
