I haven't really been keeping up on this but...

When I setup GB-PVR 1.2.9 on my exes computer, she had a new wide screen lcd panel.

THe main menu and all other pages have fonts that are sort of fuzzy, cetainly not as sharp as I see on any other monitor I look at.

I think that it's a aspect ratio, resolution problem. Would it get cleare dup setting GB-PVR to 16x9? or should I play some more with the Resolution and desktop size...

hi if I might add...

many computer LCD's have a Native resolution and that will be the clearest. Most LCD's need to use their own processors to scale the desktop down to other resolutions not native to the LCD and many LCD's will distort the picture at any other resolution and it is directly related to the quality of the scale converters they use.

(Plain english and not techinical talk hehe)

the majority of LCD computer monitors have a native resolution of 1280x1024 and when set to this resolution will produce the clearest and sharpest image possible as per your monitors specs.

cheers

edit - lol Etacovda you beat me to it!!! hahaha and in 2 words :p

Maybe that's the problem with the blocky fonts I'm seeing on my HDTV (LCD TV)?

yeah some lcds are better at scaling than others
opens up a whole new question do you go full HD1920x1080 or just go for 1366x768(most lcd tvs are actually different than monitors as far as the ratios go)

I know that the LCD said that it suggested 1680x880. or close. It was an odd res...

Anyway, my ex like 1024x768 or the size at least, though we see everything stretched.

And then when we play with other resolutions, we get over the edges like a virtual desktop thing, or HUGE black bars on the top or bottom...

Mine's a 32+ Panasonic Veira TV with 1366x768 native, but the only way I'm going to get that is stick a computer next to it with a custom resolution. However I want to use the MVP (and later the PCH-A100). SO how do I output via the MVP at a better (more "native") res?

It USED to look better in the last version ...natives or no natives...
