Hi sub,

Could we have a re-cap please? What are now the minimum system requirements for V1.2.9?

I also read that PVRX2 now works with overlay mode. Can you confirm this and does this mean it will work with older slower processors and graphics cards? i.e. what are the minimum system requirements for PVRX2?
GBPVR 1.4.7, XP pro SP3, 3.2GHz P4, 1GB RAM, Hauppauge WinTV 9000 DVB-T, Hauppauge Nova-S plus, 1 MVP

I would say the minimum requirements havnt changed from the other 1.x releases. You still need a pretty capable videocard since its using Direct3D for generating the menus etc.

I havnt tested it with a machine as slow as yours though, so you'd have to test it if you want to know for sure.

Is such a card also needed for running it of the MVP? I am presently upgrading, and I knew my video does not live up with the specs. If I try the MVP I don't see anything either, so I was wondering about the cause.

No, videocard doesnt matter when you're using the MVP.

Post the logs and description of what you do see, and I'll take a look.

My installation procedure was: 1) install vcredist_x86.zip, 2) with Add/Remove programs I uninstalled v 0.99.12, 3)installed 1.2.9

The MVP does not startup. After power down the MVP even does not find a dongle. If I roll back to 0.99.12 everything is running fine again. After stopping services immediately installing 1.2.9 had the same effect. Amongst others, I do not understand what causes the multiplexer no longer being seen (Config.exe-native.log)

PS: I am aware that an upgrade with more releases inbetween is not guaranteed to work

This case is almost always a firewall problem. PVRX2.exe has to be open for TCP and IP now.

Not in this case unfortunately I had the PVRX2 in my firewall config. Even tried with firewall down.
I guess it is now time to do a total overhoal of that machine. It also seems to have a disk problem, which prevents it even more often to go into hibernation.

Must have been an early afternoon dip that I forgot to include them in the earlier post.

Here they are:

can you also post the older versions of MVP-PVRX2.exe.log?
