TV Listings 2 - Support Thread

I defined several guides in CONFIG. See attached JPG.

To show you an approach to what I'm looking for, see the attached screen print from XGuide showing that it is currently displaying the "Test Guide".

I'd also like to take another run at convincing you to add a filter capability. I've attached a screen print from how Excite.com can filter and just show one category in its television listings. The attached snapshot shows just the movies for the time period. This is what I would like to see added to TV Listings and/or GBPVR.

again, I won't be adding something like this, sorry.

You can have the screen title include the guide name by changing the skin.xml text to @screenNameGuideName.

...which is also the default in the blue skin's xml file, so I guess you're using another skin or have altered it yourself.

I'm using the Community skin. I looked into the Blue skin and found what you were referring to. I copied it into TV Listing's skin.xml. It got me close enough that I can twiddle it but there is a problem.

I'm unable to reproduce this behaviour here, sorry. Does it work as expected when you're using the default blue skin? How does your current skin file look like?

I'd appreciate it if you could add the line in the appropriate place. Don't even worry about the font size. I can deal with that kind of tweak myself.

you'll need to insert something like the following somewhere in the <CompositeImages> section:

Doing so, you actually override the ScreenName image that normally defined in your baseskin.xml file. Don't change the part "text="@screenNameGuideName"", and ensure that the textstyle "ScreenNameStyle" is defined somewhere.

Have you tried using something like SearchWiz2? It does a pretty good job of generating a list of shows that meet whatever filter criteria you set. You can save filters. I have made one for all movies and I search it each week to see if there is anything I want to record. It will not sort these on a grid, but it does put them in chronological order. Hope that helps a little even if it is not exactly what you had hoped for.

Thanks for reminding me about SearchWiz2. I had looked at it before but didn't see that it could search and only return a list of just movies in the EPG.
