Whurlston,
I was just thinking about the MVP setup and realized that in order to play the movies on the MVP a file conversion is needed. The downloaded movies are .wmv and the MVP is expecting .mpg 1/2. Bummer! MVP is not very capable.

Doz5 Wrote:Whurlston,The wmv format isn't really an issue. The DRM in the file is another story. My plugin is not bypassing any DRM (and will not be at any point), only allowing you to play the file outside of netflix.com

So what's happening to the DRM if you convert the file to mpg? I am assuming Netflix would not allow that. Which takes the MVP out of the picture.

I've never attempted to convert a DRM'd file so I can only assume that you simply couldn't convert it or if you did, it would just be corrupted video.

Doz5, here is a replacement dll that will check more file locations/names.

Select the movie from the list. In the "Select a stream" popup, select "Watch [bitrate that you downloaded]". I'll be adding an option to display just the movies that you've downloaded but I haven't gotten to that yet.

DRM is an encryption on the file (basically). There are probably hacks that will strip the DRM allowing for conversion but it's breaking the copyright and license/agreement you make with Netflix. Whurlston's solution doesn't do anything illegal or against the agreement.
